Conceived as a reflection on the theme of time at the turn of the millennium, “Dans le noir du temps” functions as a Pandora’s box which hides all the horrors of the world: the last moments of youth, fame, thoughts, memory, love, silence, history, fear, eternity and, of course, cinema.

A UNICEF-sponsored six-film anthology depicting childhood horrors around the world. "Hassane" - a malnourished child in Niger needs help from the doctors, but village traditions prohibit it. "Liouba" - a child escapes to the forest after a beating by his alcoholic mother, but the games he plays in the forest mirror his troubles at home. "Boy" - a child faces discrimination as the only white student at his school. "Carmelo" - in Bogota a child living on the streets fights to survive. "Oca" - when his twelve year old brother dies free-diving in the Philippines, seven year old Oca must take his place on the job. "L'enfance de l'art" - children living and playing in a war zone are touched by violence.

「我需要用一日去講歷史的一秒，用一年去講歷史的一分鐘，用一生去講歷史的一日。」高達野心大，視野闊，要為世界電影作一件事，要後世知道20世紀電影歷史面貌是何等模樣及如何反思。他在1998-99年完成了空前巨大的紀錄片《世界電影(眾數)史》，原版本共八個單元，片長由廿多分鐘至50多分鐘，假如要一口看罷就超過四小時。內容簡單一句，就是從藝術、政治、電影與電視、菲林與數碼影像發展等不同範疇，回顧20世紀電影歷史。《世界電影(眾數)史精選》則是短篇剪輯版本，精華濃縮甚至再創作，極少作大銀幕放映，機會難逢。
"I need one day to describe one second in history, one year to describe one minute in history, one life to describe one day in history," said Godard, who with his ambition and vision wanted to do something for the film world, wanting the future generations to know what 20th century film history is, and how to reflect upon it. Between 1998 and 1999, he finished the monumental eight-chapter documentary Historie(s) of Cinema, with varying length from 20 to more than 50 minutes, and a complete viewing will take more than 4 hours. It is a look back on 20th century film history, from the perspectives of art, politics, film and TV, celluloid and digital video. This screening version has captured the essence of it and is presented rarely on the big screen.

Jean-Luc Godard often transformed his synopses into aesthetic programs. Drôles de guerres follows in this tradition and will remain as the ultimate gesture of cinema, which he accompanies with the following text: “No longer trusting the billions of diktats of the alphabet to give back their freedom to the incessant metamorphoses and metaphors of a true language by returning to the places of past shootings, while taking into account the present stories.”

Jean-Luc Godard made this short movie for France Telecom, but it was never officially distributed nor broadcast.

In this astonishing twelve-part project for and about television — the title of which refers to a 19th-century French primer Le tour de la France par deux enfants — Godard and Miéville take a detour through the everyday lives of two children in contemporary France.

Scénarios, which was literally completed by Jean-Luc Godard the day before his self-death, is twofold: DNA, fundamental elements, and MRI, Odyssey. Between these two polarities, which evoke genesis and decline in a strictly materialistic way, a story unfolds, made up of a jumble of notes and images, condensed into 18 minutes. It is a narrative haunted by death, as this film is also a farewell.

In October 2021, Jean-Luc Godard presented his idea for Scénarios, a 34' film combining still and moving images, halfway between reading and seeing.

Jean-Luc Godard observe la journée de deux enfants d'une dizaine d'années, un petit garçon et une petite fille, pour s'interroger sur la réalité, sur les mots, sur les images, et aussi sur la télévision. Au cours de chaque émission, composée de rubriques variées à la manière d'un magazine, Jean-Luc Godard établit des allers et retours: entre l'école et la famille, entre les loisirs et le travail, entre le sommeil et le réveil, tels que les enfants les perçoivent et les racontent en réponse à des questions qui les surprennent. D'autres allers et retours suivent: entre les choses et le langage, entre les apparences et ce qu'elles cachent, entre les enfants et les adultes...
