Ashram is back after some 4 years with a splendid second album. Shining Silver Skies contains very delicate and beautiful neoclassical music. This music is the ultimate way to get totally relaxed and to enjoy intensively in a way in which everything seems to be very light. In weight, in colour and in sound. The music has just about the exact right balance between light atmospheres and deep emotions without getting all pathetic or bombastic. The ingeniously thought-out and very versatile piano sounds by Luigi Rubino create the base over which the violin of Edo Notarloberti plays it’s arrangements. There can sometimes also be heard a chello sound which adds the necessary depth to the compositions. The whole picture regarding this pure music with a slightly nostalgic character is made complete by the wonderful, sometimes almost crooning, vocals of Sergio Panarella. Sergio’s voice is melodic and has a certain degree of accessibility that borders the popular and which ensures that the music doesn’t come across as too heavy or pompuous yet deliciously balances on that fine thin line. This is truly exceptionally good.

Following Larsen's critically and commercially successful full-length Play on Important, we bring you SeieS, housed in a deluxe Important Records cardboard gatefold sleeve and printed on matte paper to look almost as good as it sounds.

SeieS is Larsen's fifth full-length, and work on it began when the band was recording Play. However, where Play was Larsen's most orchestrated/ambient work, SeieS tends to be quite a bit more song-oriented. Tracks like "The Snow," "Haula" and "Marzia" are Larsen's most sinister compositions, disturbing soundscapes that would fit very well in a David Lynch movie.

The remaining tracks feature female vocals thanks to ex-Swans chanteuse Jarboe. Also outstanding is the work of Larsen's beloved cello player and longtime collaborator Julia Kent (of Antony & The Johnsons).

Italian neo-folk with a neoclassical touch. Christianity and old European cabaret sin, Love and Hate. Features guest appearances from Josef K (Von Thronstahl), Belborn and Pamela Gargiuto.

1976: Maurizio and Christina form the duo CHRISMA (the monicker is no less than the contraction of their two names; in the following years the "Ch" will be replaced by the "K").
The two move from Milan to London and record "U" and "Amore" with the help of Nico Papathanassiou and his brother Vangelis.
1977/1978: the profitable collaboration with Nico and Vangelis continues.
What was happening in London also shake waters in the house Arcieri: the duo marries the punk cause adopting its look and records "Chinese Restaurant", whose mood, rather than follow Pistols & Co. path seems a lot similar to certain works of the Velvet Underground (to which they will be compared by the illustrious New Musical Express).
The 45 drawn by the full-length "Lola" enters the Top 10.
During the promotional Chinese Restaurant Tour Maurizio experiments the notorious "finger-job" (a finger is cut on stage with a razor).
National uproar and bold titles on the newspapers, that come to write of an hypothetical loss of the finger in matter.
The accident resolves in anticipated end of the tour.
1979: Maurizio and Christina record their second album, "Hibernation", which gets a good success also at international level. They are definitively established in London.
Other "scandal" because of the video drawn by the single "Aurora B." in which Christina and Maurizio simulate suicide and sexual actions in a subway station. The clip is one of the first ones of the Italian history.
1980: third album for the band (with Hans Zimmer - now Oscar winning composer - at synthetizers programming): "Cathode Mamma".
The single "Many Kisses" is a big summer hit and climbs the European charts. Krisma develop the first minisequencer: Krismino.
1981: the Arcieris leave Polygram for CGD and start to work in Holland at a new album that will be completed among an Alpine chalet and Milan.
1982: the experimental "Clandestine Anticipation" is released. Its sleeve artwork (by the late art designer Mario Convertino) will mark a real miliary stone. The album deals with water in all of its forms (liquid, frozen, at the state of vapor, fog, snow or rain) and is supported by a series of amazing videos filmed in tropical locations.
1982/1986: they sojourn in New York City. In the USA they will be authors of three videos for MTV; subsequently they begin to work for France 2. In Italy they often appear within different episodes of the program "Be Bop a Lula" hosted by Red Ronnie for Italia Uno.
They teach electronic music and satellite contents in Detroit's Cranbrook Academy of Art.

"Nothing To do With the Dog" (of which an international version exists: "Fido") and " Iceberg" are released.
"Nothing To do..." lyrics are by Krisma and Arto Lindsay.
1987/1990: their last work on vinyl, "Non ho denaro", is released. One of the hardest-to-find Krisma records, mostly sung in italian, "Non ho denaro" contains gems like "Messaggiami" and "Jungle Lover".
1991/1999: their first records are remastered. They continue the productions for Italian state broadcasting company Rai Tre (Blob, Sat Sat) and take care of the special effects for Nitrato d'Argento a movie by Marco Ferreri.
Maurizio and Christina also design several video-art installations and are consultants for Benetton's Centro Ricerca Comunicazione.
Since July 22, 1998, satellite television KrismaTV reaches, through Skyplex, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Arabic Countries.
1999/2000: KrismaTV is now broadcasted from Eutelsat.
In June 2000 finally opens
and Maurizio comes back with the solo project Re/BIRTH..

In the spring of 2011 Be Forest‘s debut album, Cold, was released, causing an earthquake among the music press in Italy and abroad. Music zines started buzzing about the “Pesaro-scene”: a town on the Adriatic coast of Italy that gave birth to bands such as Soviet Soviet, Altro, and Brothers in Law (a band that shares Be Forest‘s guitarist Nicola Lampredi). The Pesaro-movement brought out sharp sounds, chilly atmospheres, and new energies. As the band describes it: “Pesaro is not a city for young people, there are less and less venues to play at, especially during the winter. Perhaps this lack is exactly what motivates kids to embrace music so passionately”.

Alt-classical composer/pianist Ludovico Einaudi returns with a brand new album ‘Elements’ released on 16th October on the Decca label.
With that in mind Music-News.com caught up with Ludovico Einaudi at Decca HQ in London to find out more. Check out our exclusive interview below.
Einaudi has quietly become one of the most successful musicians on the planet. His hauntingly beautiful and evocative music tops the classical charts worldwide, particularly here in the UK and in his home country Italy) and he has sold over 1.5 million records. He is the biggest streamed classical artist in the UK with over 130 million streams – that’s more than Pavarotti and Bocelli, and neck a neck with current chart stars Years & Years.
‘Elements’ was recorded this year at his studio in the Italian countryside. It is inspired by the world around him: nature’s elements (earth, water, air, and fire) as well as the lines of the grass and hills, mathematical and scientific elements, musical form and works of arts including those by Paul Klee and Gustav Klimt. Einaudi created the album’s cover artwork himself – drawing a variety of different symbols and illustrations, which combine to stunning effect.
Einaudi’s music has been heard by millions worldwide – especially through adverts, trailers, film scores and TV soundtracks. He has provided music for more than 20 films including Shane Meadows’ ‘This Is England’ film and the TV sequel ‘This Is England ‘86’, for which he earned a BAFTA nomination, as well as ‘Black Swan’ (starring Oscar winner Natalie Portman) and Ricky Gervais’ TV series ‘Derek’.
Einaudi has performed to huge crowds at venues around the world and has even achieved a Top 40 pop hit thanks to a BBC Radio 1 campaign by DJ Greg James. His recent UK dates include sell-out performances at Blenheim Palace, Hammersmith Apollo, Barbican and headlining the iTunes festival at the Roundhouse.
His music has been described as minimalist, alt-classical, ambient and contemporary, but it defies easy classification. He sums it up best: “There is something in it that comes from classical, but I have influences from different music I have experienced in my life, from African music to folk and rock.”
This latest album brings together a musical alchemy that draws on elements of electronicam, world, rock and classical music – reflecting Einaudi’s unique position on the international music scene.

Los Angeles multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Cortini has been a member of Nine Inch Nails since the late 2000s and is also part of the small-world subculture of analog and modular synths. His second album for Hospital Productions, the label run by Prurient’s Dominick Fernow, is organic and propulsive, eerie and claustrophobic.
