2011 debut album from this Swedish duo comprised of Maria Lind‚n and her musical partner Fredrik Balck. Residing in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, the duo have quietly been crafting the nine tracks that make up Hearts throughout stolen moments gathered up over the past three years. Songs were written, committed to tape, destroyed. The task of capturing the sonic density of Lind‚n's compositions was painstaking. Balck's lyrics constantly teasing the senses are at times insular, cold to the touch. It's only when interpreted by Maria's effortless croon that a warmth is added, like the first rays of sun on a cold winters morning. The set will come out in Sweden on April 1 via Licking Fingers (U.S. release date coming soon) and the new song "Change of Heart" is currently streaming at the EPDM MySpace. She's got a few bleached-out new publicity shots, too.

Seas of Years was formed around midsummer 2012 and set out early on with the intention to write instrumental post rock. The first bandname was Ocean Rift, but it was eventually changed into Seas of Years.
None of the members had any previous experience of playing this genre, all originally hailing from the metal scene and bands like AtomA, Enshine, Slumber, Obrero, Unchaste, Burning Darkness, Mortifera and Insision.
The first rehersals and writing sessions were although successful both with band chemistry and the songwriting process. At the end of the year the band had about eight songideas (of which 4 were chosen) ready and decided to enter a studio session to record their first EP "Ocean Rift". The first band name survived to become the title of the first EP.
"Ocean rift" is a four track EP that will see the light of day in April 2013.
The recording and mixing of "Ocean Rift" was handled by Jari Lindholm and took place between
January and March 2013 in ESTA studios, Stockholm.

Kin is the project's first full-length album, about two years after releasing two series of music videos (dubbed the Prelude and Bounty series) on YouTube. The album was hinted on iamamiwhoami's channel via a cryptic video, "kin 20120611", which featured a blank sheet of paper kept within a noticeboard. The numbers '20120611' are actually a date, June 11, 2012, arranged according to the Swedish date format. Additionally, During the Grammis in 2011, an anonymous woman collected the 'Innovator of the Year' award on behalf of iamamiwhoami and opened an envelope to reveal a blank piece of paper, hinting that the album was in production since 2011.The album was eventually confirmed by Co-Operative Music.Unlike most traditional albums which only release singles after the album is out, singles from Kin will be released on their YouTube channel, with a new song and an accompanying music video every two weeks. The music video is released one day before the single.The series of music videos from Kin follow a storyline featuring Jonna Lee, the creator and face of the project, along with several hairy figures which serve an unknown purpose thus far.
Kin gained attention on the internet due to a viral marketing campaignbeginning since 2009. The album was nominated for "The Best Tease of the Past 12 Months" category by BBC Radio's 6 Music Blog Awards, with fellow contenders being Lana Del Rey, Elliphant, Battlekat, Savoir Adore and The Sound of Arrows. On March 2nd, 2012, they were announced as the winners for the award. iamamiwhoami then made their first large airplay debut in the United Kingdom with their track, "o" after the announcement.Kin was acclaimed by the co-creator of the American animated televion series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Konietzko commented, "Watching all of their videos and their site-specific performance is like getting a rare view into a world where art isn’t hindered by economics and time constraints. I want to go to that world." Each time a new single is released, iamamiwhoami emails various music blogs to alert them and there are no accompanying press releases or offers of interviews.
Lyrics from the tracks of the album were given as responses to questions posted in an interview with Bullett Magazine. The article also features a photo shoot featuring Lee posing in parts of a forest, and a room filled with machinery.
On May 25 2012, rumors began to circulate that iamamiwhoami were still shooting videos with the announcement of 9th single "goods", originally intended to be exclusive to the album. iambountyfan stated that kin had been pushed back to September 4 2012 on their Facebook page, all of which was untrue. Release dates continued to fall in line with their original intention, "goods" having a tentative release of June 5, 2012.

Swedish pop stars got swagger. Lykke Li’s first new single, the sexually seductive “Get Some,” was a wonderful return to the spotlight since her 2008 debut, Youth Novels, tantalized our audible taste buds. Her latest single, “I Follow Rivers,” from her forthcoming sophomore effort, Wounded Rhymes, while certainly less promiscuous, follows a similar formula, housing a tribal beat whose sinister and mysterious resonance works well with Li’s slightly distorted, bluesy and engaging vocals. It offers everything we’ve come to love from the songstress, and it certainly seems like she is devising a darker, more ominous theme on Wounded Rhymes, which comes out via her own LL Recordings on March 1st.

The Knife was a Swedish electronic music duo from Gothenburg formed in 1999. The group consisted of siblings Karin and Olof Dreijer, who together also run their own record company, Rabid Records. The group gained a large international following in response to their 2003 album Deep Cuts.

Over-amplified and fuzzed to the max, the Prunes here are explosive, noisy and wild. This recording proves that the Electric Prunes deserve to be ranked alongside the very best bands of the era. 8 tracks recorded by the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation at the Concert Hall in Stockholm, Sweden December 14th 1967.

We've reached the time of year where people start talking about potential "songs of the summer", and Stockholm pop duo Icona Pop's latest single, "I Love It", seems like a righteous contender from the get-go. A slice of buzzy electro euphoria that fits easily with both modern pop and electronic music's recent turn towards total maximalism, the song finds band members Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo barely lowering their voices to arena-level volume, shouting defiantly about crashing cars and how they "threw your shit into a bag and pushed it down the stairs" with infectious, starry-eyed energy. Delectable, empowering, infinitely repeatable-- and it arrives with the added surprise, too, that none other than Charli XCX wrote the song herself. Who says colorful pop can't wear black?
