Tales of Us is the sixth studio album by English electronic music duo Goldfrapp, released on 6 September 2013 by Mute Records. In June 2013, the duo embarked on the Tales of Us Tour to promote the album.

This classically trained Brit's debut album has seen her compared to the likes of Nina Simone and David Axelrod. Although her lyrics sometimes communicate an impersonal strain of melancholy, the music is anything but, dazzling with powerful, vibrant arrangements.

Upcdownc are now ready to unlease their new Album Black Sea on Field Records conjuring up imagery of ship wrecks and sea storms, tranqu il soundscapes to titan-sized juggernaut riffs. This is the follow up to the highly successful fourth album ‘Calaveras’ releases in 2011 by Field Records.
Upcdownc are a four-piece band from Kent formed in 2000. They’ve gigged extensively throughout Kent, London and the UK playing support roles to the likes of 65Daysofstatic, Oneida, Kinski, The Drones, Bossk to name a few and as sound carriers for Damo Suzuki as well as headlining and setting up there own shows/tours.
In 2004 following a number of self-released singles and albums, they were signed to indie label Tap ‘n’ Tin Records and their first double ‘A’ side 7″ single was released in February 2005. They performed a live Xfm session with John Kennedy in May of 2005 and during the same year their second 10″ single was released. Their debut album ‘And the Battle is Won’ was released at the end of 2005 and received high acclaim from the music press. In March 2006 they visited Maida Vale studios to record a live Radio One session with Huw Stephens and embarked upon their first UK tour.
Their second album ‘Embers’ was released in 2008 and distributed in both the UK and Japan. The band left the Tap ‘n’ Tin in 2008, releasing ‘Firewolf’ on their own in 2009. ‘Firewolf’ was mastered at Abbey Road Studios being distributed once again in both UK and Japan. During 2010 the band embarked upon their second UK tour with the year ending on a high with the band taking their first steps into the European arena.

Mugstar fit well beside such Important records as Cave and A Place To Bury Strangers. Since 2003 they've issued a few full lengths, a split with Mudhoney, an etched 10" and most famously, recorded the last ever Peel Session with the late John Peel.
Mugstar are the sound of 10,000 exploding suns, pulsing with repetitive beauty and pounding like a supersonic mantra. “...Sun, Broken...”, Mugstar’s second full-length album, recalls “Saucerful…” era Floyd and echoes vintage Neu! alongside the more contemporary sounds of Oneida and Sonic Youth.
Mugstar take the sonics of heavy psychedelia and krautrock, drag it through the lenses of punk and post-rock and jettison the results into something of propulsive originality.
“…Sun, Broken…” delivers a range of power, textures and soundscapes, from the turbo-charged openers
of “Technical Knowledge as a Weapon” and “Ouroboros”, the eerie other-worldly atmospherics of
“Labrador Hatchet” and “She Ran Away With My Medicine”, through the krautrocking “Today Is The Wrong Shape” to the expansive voyage of closing track “Furklausundbo”. It is a forceful and compelling album.
Mugstar's origins begin with drummer Steve Ashton wanting a band who could play as loud as he could. Neil Murphy, from an improv. background, joined next providing noise and subtlety. Peter Smyth then answered the call bringing guitar, keyboards, vocals, and an intense stage persona. Jason Stoll came on board with his dirty bass tones. Finally Sam Wiehl arrived, adding projections to the live shows making Mugstar a full assault on the senses both sonically and visually. Steve found the band he wanted.
Mugstar is already in the studio working on their third album, two new 7” singles and a film project is also in the pipeline. They are also looking to book their first US tour in summer 2010. It looks like 2010 is to be a bumper year for Mugstar.

David Tibet于1960年出生于马来西亚北部城市Batu Gajah，并在那里度过了14年。童年时的Tibet十分喜爱他的出生地，特别是当地的浓郁宗教氛围。小小年纪的他就喜欢流连于当地繁多的佛教寺院、印度教寺院、道教寺院。这种与众不同的，对南亚宗教的喜爱的性格爱好，纠缠着Tibet的生命，并直接影响着他日后的音乐。1973年Tibet随父母移居英国，在那里他才开始真正与西方文明接触。当他接触到华丽摇滚时，就开始被David Bowie、Alice Cooper、T Rex等乐队所吸引。之后又受到朋克运动的影响。大学时代他又开始接触当时比较前卫的Krautrock音乐，而最终令Tibet走上音乐道路的是工业噪音运动。当时臭名昭著的工业噪音乐队Throbbing Gristle对Tibet产生了巨大的吸引力。以至于他搬到伦敦后就马上与该成员接触，而最终成为乐队的演出阵容的正式成员之一。从此Tibet踏入了工业噪音的音乐圈子。除此之外，Tibet也十分喜爱Nurse With Wound、Whitehouse这些工业噪音乐队的音乐。后来随着他音乐事业的发展，他最终与Nurse With Wound的Steven Stapleton结为好友，相互之间不单在音乐上的紧密合作，还是生活中的挚友。
1980年，David Tibet、Tony Wakeford、Patric Legas及Douglas P组成了Death In June乐队。Death In June是死亡民谣中最著名的乐队之一。它的著名，不单是因为它开创了这种诡异的音乐形式，还因为从这队乐队中孕育出日后许多著名的死亡民谣乐队。对于整个死亡民谣来说，Death In June就好比是一个雌雄同体的魔鬼，他既用父权的威严建立起死亡民谣阴暗颓废的音乐文化，又用母体的天性生育出三个恶魔，继续他/她所建立起的诡异王国。1981年在《Heaven Street》的推出之前，David Tibet就离开Death In June。两年后组建他自己的乐队。这就是日后在死亡民谣和后工业界最为著名的Current 93。之后，1984年Tony Wakeford在《Burial》出版后也离开了Death In June，自组Sol Invictus。这是一队结合异教徒信仰且崇拜古罗马时代的众神与自然力量的乐队。Patric Legas在合作完成85年的《Nada》后也离开Death In June，加入了另一队创作理念源自斯堪的纳维亚半岛一带的北欧神话的乐队Sixth comm。这三队乐队连同原来的Death In June，共同开拓出死亡民谣的许多不同音乐形态。他们之后的众多死亡民谣乐队都是沿着他们的路子发展自己的音乐的。而在这四个名字当中，影响力最大的还是David Tibet的Current 93。
David Tibet和Current 93能够产生如此巨大的影响力，是因为David Tibet与工业噪音/实验工业噪音有着十分深厚的关系。实际上，Current 93的成立正是从1983年，David Tibet、John Balance和Fritz Haaman的合作开始的，首度发表的作品是单曲“Lashtah”。当时的成员中John Balance是工业噪音重要乐队Throbbing Gristle分支之一Psychic TV早期的主要成员，后来又自行组建了另一个十分重要的工业噪音乐队Coil。Fritz Haaman则是另一工业噪音乐队23 Skidoo的主要成员。而像前面提到的实验工业噪音乐队Nurse With Wound的核心Steven Stapleton，就经常出现在Current 93唱片制作群中。而David Tibet本人也常以个人或Current 93的名义参与Nurse With Wound、Coil，以及著名后工业噪音厂牌Dark Vinyl旗下众多乐队的唱片制作。如果从后工业噪音的角度来看，在其众多的重要人物主线中，David Tibet—Steven Stapleton—John Balance是不可或缺的一条。这一主线因为John Balance的关系上承工业噪音核心乐队Throbbing Gristle的正宗工业血统（Coil的另一成员Peter Christopherson也是这个乐队的四分之一）；同时它又以其阴暗低调、反基督、异质声音而直接引导出阴暗乐派，特别是阴暗工业噪音（Dark Industrial/Death Industrial）。由此我们不难看出在David Tibet/Current 93的音乐里，上承下启着两种重要的地下音乐，体现着工业噪音音乐的发展。同时，又由于Tibet曾经参与过Death In June的关系，在原Death In June成员Douglas P的参与下，Current 93也有真正属于死亡民谣的作品。因而我们也不难看出David Tibet/Current 93的音乐其实是成分混杂，处于过渡阶段的一种音乐类型。若想仅凭一两首作品就可窥视其全貌是不可能的事。以Current 93的作品为例，它既有像《Dogs Blood Rising》这样离经叛道，充满邪教血腥味道的噪音专辑，也有《Thunder Perfect Mind》这样表面清淡平和，实际充满内在张力的邪异民谣作品。在Current 93不同时期的专辑中随风格的不同会有不同的制作班底。一般来说比较噪音的作品大多会有上文提到的Steven Stapleton的参与；而较民谣的作品则会有Douglas P的参与。而在这当中起作用的人物当然就是David Tibet。其实Current 93一直以来就仿佛是David Tibet一人的代名词，其他人都不是固定成员。
作为Death In June的分支乐队，Current 93不可能不带上前者浓烈的音乐味道。但不同的是Current 93的作品在手法上和编曲上会较Death In June多元化。Current 93删去了Death In June略显沉闷的气氛编排手法，而转用更为技术化的采样来达到制造气氛的目的。像在《Dogs Blood Rising》中的多首作品就用上了经过处理的天主教颂歌集作为背景声效，出来的效果极度异端诡秘，让人不寒而栗。而他们对电子、工业声效的运用也较 Death In June成熟，音乐形态更多元化。他们的一些氛围音乐（Ambient）作品格调并不十分阴暗低调，以至于连Sub Rosa这些并没有沾染多少欧陆阴暗气息的唱片公司也会为他们出版唱片。正是由于Current 93多元化的制作手法，使他们始终拥有相当多的乐迷，以至于在死亡民谣消失多年，同时期乐队蒸发得无影无踪后的今天，Current 93仍然能够生存，出版它的新专辑。在众多的地下音乐领域，Current 93都有着比其它死亡民谣乐队更高的知名度。除低调音乐圈外，它在实验乐界同样有着一定的地位。它多变的手法，对声音独特的处理方式，对西藏密宗音乐、东南亚民族音乐研究都有着独到之处。近年来Current 93因顺应世界音乐大气候，由早期的异质诡秘，日渐转向轻型化。现在Current 93进入慢产期，风格上开始涉足更多的电子元素。
透过Current 93的音乐历程，我们可以更深切的体会到David Tibet的内心世界。早期乐队在音乐所表现出的离经叛道、血腥暴力，在文字中流露出的耶路撒冷沉沦的末日景象，其实正是现实中工业社会下人们对残酷生活的扭曲梦境反应。工业技术的进步，日益增加的信息无法解决现代人类的空虚和孤独。人们恍如丧失灵魂一般地生活着。乐队后期的作品虽然趋于平和，但对宗教的执著却始终不减。David Tibet曾经表示，他最向往的是他童年的生活。因为在那时不会有成年后的不快经历，也不必强迫自己去做很多违心的事情。现实生活的空虚和孤独源自于谎言和不信任，这些都是Tibet所不愿看见的。于是Tibet只好通过神话来找寻自己的灵魂——摆脱空虚和孤独的困境。这是死亡民谣，以及众多低调音乐的共同特征。这也反映出这样的事实：我们是在通过音乐达到通往神话境界的目的，然后又通过神话回归人类最原始的精神境界，让我们的灵魂在音乐中回到自身。

epic45 are a British indie/post-rock band. Core members Rob Glover and Benjamin Holton, who grew up in Wheaton Aston, Staffordshire, formed the band in 1995 when the two school friends were only 13 years old.

Filled with 12 blistering tracks ETD weave a distinctive magic, coupling main songwriter Dan Moss gift for melody with Katherine Whitaker s unique vocal mannerisms. The songs both document and channel the exuberance of youth and were recorded late Summer 2011 with producer Ex-Test Icicle and current Warm Brains man Rory Atwell (Veronica Falls, Male Bonding, The Vaccines). Dan describes what the band were aiming for: "We wanted to make the best sounding record that we possibly could as we're bored of bands just settling for a half-a**ed sound. Attuned as much to the lyrical dexterity of Morrissey, Lawrence Felt, Edwyn Collins, and Jarvis Cocker, as to the scuzzed up melodic exuberance of early My Bloody Valentine, Pavement, The Pixies, and the I Am Kurious Oranj era of The Fall, the band effortlessly blend precocious musical literacy with the kind of unerring self-awareness which makes for a perfectly pitched pop sensibility. Following the release of their instantly acclaimed debut single, the urgent and unsettling latent-cold-war-paranoia love-song Threads , and the the scathingly acerbic and the boldly fragile second single I m so Unclean , Evans the Death have been given extensive airtime on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, as well being made John Kennedy s Xposure Big One on XFM. The press have not been slow to follow with glowing reviews in Artrocker, This Is Fake DIY, SoundsXP and Drowned In Sound. An extensive UK tour in late 2011 and constant gigging in London has helped to hone their performances into thrilling, energy-packed live shows. Bauhaus 鲍豪斯乐队
鲍豪斯乐队是哥特摇滚的先锋任务，成军于1978年，以一支单曲《Bela Lugosi′s Desd》走入乐坛。乐队的名称由德国同时期的鲍豪斯思想激发灵感，演唱会现场也受到这一风格的影响。主唱Daniel Ash在惨淡的白光下吟唱着阴郁黑暗的歌曲，变幻的鼓声和诡异的吉他传来隐隐的不安。1979年乐队签约4AD唱片公司，陆续推出《Dark Entries》等3支单曲，都传达着恐怖阴森的气息。1980年他们的首张专辑《In The Flat Field》推出，以迷幻独特的风格迅速打入排行榜。鲍豪斯乐队很快又推出第二张专辑《Musk》，并且在很大程度上扭转了乐队的音乐方向，少了些疯狂，多了些成熟冷静。专辑中更多的重金属和舞曲元素使他们更容易被大众所接受。1983年，由于主唱Daniel Ash和贝司手David Jay之间产生了严重的分歧，导致了乐队的解体。
