We always say this - we hate comps - they’re almost always shite - but this one’s a bit of a mindmelter, featuring 20 new and exclusive tracks commissioned by label bossman Joachim Nordwall to celebrate the occasion of his label’s 20th anniversary, almost 1 track per year of going against the grain. Trust when we say that Nordwall's selection skills and sprawling network of interconnected artists has yielded a frankly ridiculous tracklisting, including a 17+ minute steamroom special from Jim O’Rourke, a pulsing electroacoustic killer from Stephen O’Malley, a rare new hookup between Prurient and Carlos Giffoni, brand new ambient/field recording peach from JASSS, an amazing fizzing drone tribute to Folke Rabe by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, plus Puce Mary and Jesse Sanes aka JH1.FS3 on fine fine form, and just too many others to mention - over two hours of exceptional music.
The story of iDEAL starts out in London 1998, when Nordwall was living the hardscrabble life: working in an underwear shop near Liverpool Street station; living in a filthy Bayswater apartment; scoring industrial records from the Music and Video Exchange; getting drunk in cheap pubs, and dreaming of starting a new record label and platform. He called it iDEAL, and 180 releases, 20 years later, it has become an invaluable node for non-standard, wayward expressions of modern electronic noise in all its mutable variation.
iDEAL’s success and longevity may well be down to the way that Nordwall treated it as a social and artistic home, offering a place where mutually exclusive styles could bed down away from the mainstream or the genre police, and feed into a much larger, work-in-progress definition of fringe music. ‘The Black Book’ extends, in the spirit of the label, an idealised compilation of disparate possibilities connected by a sense of musical mystery and chaotic energy.

由金牌製作人荒山亮所领军的动脉音乐，于2015年推出「台语新浪潮」，透过词曲徵选、作品发表与合辑的发行，鼓励年轻人创作台语流行音乐。「台语新浪潮」受到各界好评不断，并入围第27届金曲奖－最佳台语专辑。
2018年动脉音乐再推出「台语新浪潮2」，再次跨越语言的藩篱，将刻板印象的台语歌曲型式转换成嘻哈、流行、放克、电音等风格；10组创作人与动脉音乐的歌手、製作人以及编曲老师们，共同以新世代的思维赋予台语歌曲全新的面貌。
封面设计：线条勾勒出律动、节奏，代表不同属性的音乐，不再是刻板印象中，音乐该有的声波、音波、音频等具现图像，而是以曲线代替浪潮与新音乐思维结合！
创作音乐是为了让「人」欣赏、享受，绿色的圆盘概念，强调听「新音乐」的想法。凿空的封面设计，让圆盘自然凸显，仿彿回到随身听的年代，让逐渐习惯数位音乐的人们，从设计巧思中，体验实体音乐才能感受的温度及脉动。

恋爱中的人，会因为爱而变得更勇敢。

台語新浪潮首張合輯，是「動脈音樂」從2014年推動的一系列公開徵稿、比賽及製作人邀稿後精選出十四首歌的作品。有別於一般主題性的創作比賽紀念合輯，我們希望能夠藉著更專業的製作方式來讓這些作品找到台語歌曲在流行市場上更多的可能性。
由於參與這次詞曲投稿的作者們來自台灣各個不同的角落，除了不同背景的專職音樂創作人，更有來自各行各業不同生活經驗的作者，很高興也很感動地發現到台灣還是有很多人正努力地用自己的熱情為這塊土地創作著歌謠，也因為收歌方式如此特別，再加上眾多優秀歌手們的精采演繹，讓整張合輯的風格多元性可說是千變萬化，精彩萬分!
製作團隊從各方投稿的一百多首試聽帶中，先挑出14首不同風格不同演唱者的作品，再為每一首歌找到適合的製作方式，接著重新整合設計出一張具有流行性的合輯，其實挑戰性很大。從每個階段的挑選歌曲，製作規劃，編曲設計，配唱錄音，到後製工程我們不知道一起渡過了多少個感動的夜晚，過程中我們看到了每個參與的人對音樂的堅持與努力，也感受到了台語歌曲的各種曙光，希望這張合輯的誕生是個新的開始，也希望各界朋友們的支持與鼓勵! 讓我們繼續熱血! 努力推動這一波又一波的「台語新浪潮」吧!!

試著為這張合輯在座標軸上找到定位點：形式上，它與ㄞ國一的Band Sound接軌；但意識型態上，卻與任何的政治觀照斷然告別。
ㄞ國一展現一種「重」的力量，ㄞ國二則宣示一種「輕」的姿態，透過世代差異激出的效應，是這張專輯最令人期待的地方。
從歷時性的角度，它是樂團勢力在二十一世紀的初試啼聲；從共時性的角度，它呈現了這個年僅二十的族群各種生活態度的切面；兩條軸線縱橫交織出一個驚嘆號：這些創作者的的確確是由這個社會所產製、由既定脈絡所餵養，卻在習得搖滾的音樂語彙後，踏著輕快的腳步，超前於台灣當下音樂工業的批發量販產品，以一種自由的姿態回望。
是怎樣的環境為這種自由作了準備？與上一個世代比起來，他們顯然幸運得多：政治狂熱退燒、入學管道多元化消減聯考高壓、從網路與媒體取得豐沛的音樂資訊來源、開放的家庭管束等，對這群二十郎當的天之驕子來說，玩團不再是需要焚身以對的終生志業，而是像社團活動一樣健康自然。
聽眾也同樣做好準備。不耐於主流媒體填鴨式地端出公式化音樂產品，在浩瀚的網路世界中萃取個性化的樂音；在這張合輯中，許多樂團早有了設計精良的網站與一大票死忠支持的樂迷，在各個演出場所熱情地給予掌聲。
從徵選消息一發布，兩位製作人虎神與小應便埋首於雪片般飛來的音樂稿件當中，苦心挑選；音樂的原創性與現場表演的爆發力，是挑選時的重要指標；從作曲、編曲到演出技術、甚至包裝，許多樂團竟已達到高度完成的程度，著實令人驚喜。
從這張合輯中聽到，龐克是多數血氣方剛大男生的選擇，卻也並存著Echo這樣深沉陰鬱的曲風；女生團可以用甜蜜嗓音放送春天，卻也有像噬菌體這般扛得動金屬的鋼木蘭，這兩種極端，都是這個世代古靈精怪小女生的不同折面。
也許歌聲還帶點童音、技術還顯得粗糙、台風還有點清澀，但正是這樣未經琢磨的狀態，才保留著最大量的原初生命力；我們理由相信，這張合輯不只是一個結果，而是一個起點。

Space Project is a Record Store Day compilation that takes recordings made by Voyager I and II in the 1970s of “electromagnetic radiati on fluctuations in the magnetosphere of the planets, moons, and large asteroids.” These have been handed over to Youth Lagoon, Jason Pierce, Beach House, Mutual Benefit, the Antlers, and Jesu, among others to construct music around.

2014 collection of modern New Zealand Indie bands. The tiny city of Dunedin, located in the Otago Region of New Zealand, is synonymous with smart bands, incredible melodies and a wholly distinct and innovative music. Thanks to the Clean, the Chills, the Bats, the Verlaine's, and the Dead C, Dunedin has amassed a worldwide reputation for innovative music. Local label Fishrider Records has taken on the mission of compiling and producing an album that casts a light toward the Dunedin of today. These bands have all created their own sound away from the shadow of their city's past, yet like many of their predecessors they retain the air of slightly disturbed melancholia along with a sense of space and distance from the rest of the world. Whether it is dark synthesizer pop, teen angst Noise Pop, guitar and-organ jangle, or all-out Psychedelic weirdness, these songs all come from a place on the edge of the world where the young still read books in abundance and fend off boredom by creating music and art in cold houses.

Velvet Desert Music Vol. 1 introduces a new compilation series on Kompakt, curated by one of Cologne’s leading figures in electronic music, Jörg Burger (aka The Modernist, The Bionaut, Burger/Ink and many more). Velvet Desert Music Vol. 1 combines elements of rock, folk, country, surf, krautrock and psychedelic in contemporary electronic music.
Velvet Desert Music Vol. 1 features unreleased music and mixes from Matias Aguayo/Terrapin, Fantastic Twins, Paulor, Rebolledo, Sascha Funke & Cosmo Vitelli, Superpitcher, The Modernist and more.
The concept shares some similarities to Kompakt’s Pop Ambient series as unlike a conventional compilation of tracks from different artists, Velvet Desert Music Vol.1 is a collection of music that creates a distinct vibe and atmosphere.
Jörg Burger is responsible for the concept and selection. The styles of music presented on Velvet Desert Music Vol. 1 play a crucial role and influence in his work for many years. Now he has created a platform for these styles. Beside showcasing his own music, Jörg Burger kept to inviting a close circle of friends and colleagues that share similar influences in their work. All of their contributions were specially composed or remixed for this collection.
Velvet Desert Music Vol. 1 features the first new Burger/Ink track since the release of their iconic full length “Las Vegas” on Harvest and Matador Records in 1996.

The midnight hour crept unto thee with hasty caution, revealing 'A Little Night Music: Aural Apparitions from the Geographic North', our third putrid prowl into Halloween-inspired sounds to torment and tantalize throughout the season. For this bout of distinguished dementia, we culled 31 brand new tracks of haunted hysteria conjured by some of the most alluring ambientists and outer auteurs from around the world.
Spanning over two hours across two cassettes, 'A Little Night Music…’ unfurls itself in a literary horror structure, appearing and disappearing through a stirring Prologue and Epilogue by London-based cellist Oliver Coates, with each side of the cassettes introducing its Chapter with a chilling dirge courtesy of the inscrutable Geographic North House Band.
What fills the ensuing pages is a mirthful tale concocted by an assembly exploring a realm all at once mournful and fatalist at its core. Entries from Clarice Jensen, Malibu, and the collaboration of Like a Villain and Christina Vantzou bring about endless glacial landscapes accented by pitch-grey skies. Conversely, transmissions from Michael Valentine West, M. Sage, Gregg Kowalsky, and Austrian ambient stalwart Fennesz explore richly textured mines of foreboding glee.
Suspicion is the word when considering Zelienople’s eerie horse-carriage clip-clop, Nick Malkin’s neon-lit noir-jazz, or Carmen Villain’s gripping dub excursion. Elsewhere Ki Oni, Takagi Masakatsu, and Mary Lattimore (joined here by Paul Sukeena) provide glimmers of warmth amidst a tortured chill.
Notable is the resurrection of Lotus Plaza and his solemnly hopeful piano composition, while barren hallucinations courtesy of Alex Zhang Hungtai, Ilyas Ahmed, and Danny Paul Grody set the stage for a third act confrontation from Atlantans Fit of Body and Algiers, providing a one-two serving of sensual unrest and cautionary homily.
With hope and resolve shimmering through the final moments of our journey, know that all proceeds from the digital and cassette editions go directly toward Feminist Women's Health Center, an Atlanta-based nonprofit providing safe, accessible, and compassionate abortion and gynecological care to all those who need it without judgement.

Black Truffle and Mould Museum are pleased to announce the release of Thanking You. Compiled by Francis Plagne, Thanking You is a portrait of a network of friends and collaborators, offering up nine unreleased tracks over a running time of almost seventy minutes. Though the tracks presented here are either solo or duo affairs, many of these artists have worked together in other contexts; multiple threads of shared sensibility run through these pieces.
Opening with a lo-fi tape collage work centred on gamelan, environmental sound and drifting electronic tones from Oren Ambarchi and Will Guthrie, we are then presented with an epic fifteen minute piece for church organ by James Rushford, moving from wavering, uneasy chords to a wheezing hymnal conclusion. Rohan Drape contributes an austere yet characteristically affecting piece for microtonal electronics and piano, while Delphine Dora scatters keyboard fragments according to the inscrutable logic of chance. Closing the first side, Alex Macfarlane’s unique take on song takes unexpected turns, coming across like a bedroom tribute to Jade Warrior.
On the second side, Andrew Chalk and Daisuke Suzuki’s ‘Natsukodachi’ (meaning ‘summer trees’) layers electric guitar and field recordings of buzzing insects to conjure up a dream of summer afternoon heat. Tim Coster’s layers of synth and keyboard tones (sourced from the work of a certain well-known French composer) and rustling domestic sounds (sourced from the work of a certain well-known French film director) gently drift along side by side, interacting in surprising ways. Joe Talia offers up a dynamic slice of synth and tape, a rougher, more gritty complement to the sparkling electroacoustic expanse of 2018’s Tint. Finally, Julia Reidy’s surging closer yokes together guitar, raw electronics and room sounds into a lurching, staggering assemblage that eventually makes way for gently chiming tones.
