Matthias Paul, known professionally as Paul van Dyk is a German DJ, record producer and musician. One of the first true renowned DJs, van Dyk was the first artist to receive a Grammy Award nomination in the newly added category of Best Dance/Electronic album for his 2003 release Reflections.

In sequence to his previous dedicative compilations, number 8 DJ of the world Markus Schulz brings 2009 an expression of his sounds from beloved city Toronto. Right after Miami '05, Ibiza '06 and Amsterdam '08, Markus has made a fresh selection of progressive, trance and everything beyond, and put them on his fully mixed album, Toronto '09.
The previous editions received more than just a warm welcome by fans and EDM lovers, as his Amsterdam '08 was recently nominated for 'Best Full Length DJ Mix' at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami. But besides that, Markus Schulz' name has been rising in many other ways during 2008. Next to being voted number 8 DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100, he made a fashionable mix-album for Armani Exchange and has his second Essential Mix on Radio 1, his radioshow Global DJ Broadcast reached out to 10 million weekly listeners through over 20 radiostations worldwide, Markus' record label Coldharbour Recordings celebrated its 50th release and he held residency at some of the world's renowned clubs such as Club Amnesia at Ibiza and Ministry of Sound in London. Markus Schulz is fir and ready for another year, and another compilation album.

TRANCE音乐最早可以追溯到GIORGIO MORODER在70年代晚期的欧洲DISCO舞曲。当时DONNA SUMMER的一曲I FEEL LOVE，最完美的使用了电子合成器的脉冲音和电子节拍器的节奏音，她成了disco音乐的始作者。而当代的trance音乐最早出现在1992年，当时德国的柏林和法兰克福的锐舞正如火如荼之中，在此期间出现了两张唱片可谓是今天Trance音乐标准范本。jam&spoon的stella，它优美的旋律被后来知名的Trance dj诸如bt和paul van dyk奉为经典，同时，hardfloor的一曲acperience则影响了更为激进的trance音乐。

Call him M.I.K.E, Push, Plastic Boy, any of his other 55+ guises from over the years (!) or even try and pronounce his full name Mike Dierickx – there’s no denying the Belgian producer’s enduring talent for churning out darkly-tinged, brooding trance music that’s packed with emotion.
Fans will be pleased to know that he’s just put together volume 6 of the Trance World series for Armin van Buuren’s Armada Music imprint, and among the two discs of prog and trance is a new production from the man himself, of the same name.
The double CD drops on March 16th.

Trance stalwart Solarstone has unveiled details of a big new project – an ambitious double CD compilation called Electronic Architecture.
The compilation itself draws on a 6-month A&R mission by Solarstone, and consists entirely of upcoming material for his Solaris label. Plenty of new talent has been unearthed, alongside new bits from familiar names like Katcha, Tarrentella, Saints & Sinners and Breakfast, and he’s put a lot of emphasis on the visual aspect – with the sleek artwork to be carried through into the live visuals that will accompany the subsequent global tour.
"For me, the visual aspect of this project was crucial from the outset” he explains. “To have such a rich new musical tapestry and not represent it with an equally beautiful visual package would have been a huge missed opportunity. This album represents exactly what I stand for as an artist, producer & DJ. The musical progression through progressive house, breaks, soft-tech and trance is the CD equivalent of a 3 hour Solarstone club set, and it’s committal to plastic has been long overdue. This is the music I love to listen to. It is inspirational in its inventiveness, musically ambitious and never formulaic or predictable. This is an album that I want your finger to pause upon whilst browsing dusty CD shelves in ten years time, for both its aesthetic and auditory qualities"

These votes result in a special Top 20 Of The Year episode and A State Of Trance Mix mixed by Armin Van Buuren himself. This double disc set contains the results of the folks who voted in 2008! The very first artist album of Dutch DJ / producer Finne Jager a.k.a. Phynn, will be released soon! The title of the new Phynn album is going to be 'Metamorphosis', which will be officially released on October 6th 2008 under Black Hole Recordings.
Besides the hits 'Lucid', 'C U Smile' and 'Starfire At Night' the album includes 2 tracks with singer Molly Bancroft, who you might know from the vocals on the Gabriel & Dresden track 'Tracking Treasure Down'. Also one of Finne’s favorite acoustic artists, Dallas Green a.k.a. City and Colour is featured on the album.
And last but not least, the new Phynn release 'Try Again', which is a catchy track with the sweet vocals of Tiff Lacey. 'Try Again' will be released on September 29th.
