Review by Justin Stewart:
The idea of chill-out music often implies hungover boredom, or depressing post-rave comedowns. But the music of Simon James and Dan Hastie (aka Woolfy vs. Projections) brings the vitality of prime-era Air back to the genre. Not tied to mere electronics, their coolly narcotic dreamscapes are bustling with guitars, Rhodes vamps, marimbas, and some vaguely spacey vocals (like the "Captain, where did I go?" refrain from "The Return of Starlight"). It's a winning amalgam of downtempo electronica meets outsider folk. "The Chase" even throws mega-reverbed yacht rock into the mix.
