《1911》是沼泽乐队2011年推出的又一张古琴器乐摇滚专辑。
整张专辑只有1首作品，借鉴交响曲的曲式进行编排，分4个乐章展开，加起来足有1小时多。乐章无标题，仅借用了中国章回小说的回目以第几回命名。

对比把中国古风和现代摇滚乐进行深度混搭的《沧浪星》，沼泽的新专辑《1911》可谓是乐队一次更具野心的挑战——闯进西方古典乐的疆域。作品以古琴的苍凉意境担纲，加上摇滚乐三大件的强有力声墙，并采用交响曲式的叙事型结构作铺排，汇流成一首长篇摇滚交响史诗。这次沼泽借鉴了交响曲曲式来演绎他们独特的古琴摇滚曲风，为摇滚乐的表达形式提供更多新的可能性。

单看唱片名字“1911”，不难让人联想起百年辛亥。但乐队认为，“1911”只是这张唱片的出发点。作为一张器乐专辑，《1911》的外延涵盖可以更广，希望能带给人们更多的思考。

Marc Byrd - "As a thank you for your support throughout 2012, we're releasing a new song, "From the Dust... We Ran to Greet the Dawn" for free here. We had this drum track (performed by Steve H) left over from the Chasing After Shadows… Living With the Ghosts sessions. We listened to it with fresh ears and realized we could do something special with it. After Andrew and I completed our parts, Matt added his sweet cello and here we are… I feel a sense of openness, nostalgia and unbridled childlike innocence when I listen to this track. When was the last time we stayed up all night or woke up early enough to get some place where we could just take in the arrival of sunrise? It’s the most difficult thing to do, but we have to fight to keep our hearts from growing old and cold. We only have a few sunrises to see before we leave here, combined with some scattered moments of twilight. It’s constantly up to us to try to see this life with new eyes. Go greet the dawn… "

"Les Revenants", which is loosely adapted from the 2004 French zombie film of the same name. Now, the band has shared details of their two different soundtrack releases. A four-song EP of songs from the TV show is out digitally today via Mogwai's own label Rock Action, to coincide with the show's last episode.
The EP will also be released on a limited 10" (only 2,000 will be pressed) on January 28. The full soundtrack is out February 25.

This brings us to the here and now with their 5th album Hy-brasil. For Hy-Brasil the band is back to the core duo of Mike Ystad and Chris Schafer. The absence of Mike Rush's guitars have left enough open space for the duo to explore more visceral sometimes 'Vangelian' synthwork, warm emotive cello passages and more dexterous electronic beat workouts. From the opening track onward each composition on Hy-Brasil twists and turns through organic and synthetic seamlessly while yielding what could very well be their most dynamic, expansive and universally accessible album to date.

'Chasing After Shadows...Living with the Ghosts'', Hammock's fourth album, captures the duo transitioning into a much larger, darker sound and merging their signature cosmic guitar washes with massive layers of live, acoustic instruments and thick analog tones. Masterfully mixed by Tim Powles, member of The Church, ''Chasing'' transcends a mere listening experience by its emotional intensity and sheer beauty and is somehow able to convey one's innermost longings into sound, making for an indescribable affirmation of the spirit.

We are proud to announce the first new recordings by Godspeed You! Black Emperor in a decade. Featuring two twenty-minute slabs of epic instrumental rock music and two six-and-a-half minute drones, ‘ALLELUJAH! DON’T BEND! ASCEND! provides soaring, shining proof of the band’s powerful return to form.

Having emerged from hiatus at the end of 2010, GYBE picked up right where they left off, immediately re-capturing the sound and material that had fallen dormant in 2003 and driving it forward with every show of their extensive touring over the last 18 months. The new album presents the fruits of that labour: evolved and definitive versions of two huge compositions previously known to fans as “Albanian” and “Gamelan”, now properly titled as “MLADIC” and “WE DRIFT LIKE WORRIED FIRE” respectively. Accompanied by the new drones (stitched into the album sequence on CD; cut separately on their own 7″ for the LP version), GYBE have offered up a fifth album that we feel is as absolutely vital, virulent, honest and heavy as anything in their discography.

We don’t have much time for mythology, but we’d be lying if we said the return of Godspeed You! Black Emperor in 2010 didn’t signify a whole lot to us as a marker from which to look back on the past decade, to reflect on what’s been gained or lost within the confines of independent music culture and what’s been gained or lost in the socio-political landscape writ large. Godspeed’s music will do that to you. It is music that bears witness to, channels and transforms this predominantly terrible, infuriating, venal and nihilistically sad story we’re all living, sharing, resisting, protesting, deconstructing and trying to change for the better. We think GYBE has once again provided a uniquely moving and compelling soundtrack for these acts of analysis, defiance and ascension.

Hard to believe a full decade has passed since the release of Yanqui U.X.O., the last album by GYBE. Never a band to care for conventional industry wisdom, Yanqui was released shortly before xmas 2003 with little publicity and no press availability, no marketing plans or cross-promotions or brand synergies, with back cover artwork tracing the inextricable links between major music labels and the military-industrial complex. Driven by word-of-mouth from a passionate and committed fanbase galvanized by the group's sonic vision and its dedication to unmediated, unsullied musical communication, the album found it's rightful audience.

To suggest that such simple principles and goals have become harder to maintain and enact a decade later is an understatement. For all the contents and discontents – for all the "content" – of our present cultural moment, the idea of circumventing the glare of exposure, the massaging of media cycles and the calculus of identity management appears quaint, if not futile.

But Godspeed is looking to try all the same. The band wants people to care about this new album, without telling people they should or talking about themselves. They want to hold on to some part of that energy that comes with the thrill of anonymous discovery and unmediated transmission, knowing full well that these days, anti-strategy risks being tagged as a strategy, non-marketing framed as its opposite, and deeply held principles they consider fundamental to health as likely to be interpreted as just another form of stealth.

Inventions for the New Season is the second long player from acclaimed US instrumental post punk rockers Maserati. Inventions of the New Season is the first Maserati release in Australia. Their debut album Language of Cities was released in the USA, Europe and Japan in 2004 which received widespread acclaim across all territories. That release saw the band build a following across the globe, fueled by constant touring and powerful live performances at festivals inc SXSW.

It is finished! The new Our Last Hope Lost Hope album "Persist" has taken a few years to complete but it is now ready. It was recorded by eight musicians in various locations in Sweden and the U.S. between 2007 and 2010. The songs are available for streaming here and should be on Spotify and online music stores shortly. There are no current plans for a physical release, but we're open for suggestions if anyone would be interested. We really hope you'll enjoy the album!
