pg.lost is a Swedish band of many directions. Their sound is throbbing with great melancholy, but there is also a certain element of dirty rock n’ roll in it, as in the crushingly heavy closing section of monumental opening track Ikaros, in the distorted bass line kicking off the 2nd track of the album, „Off The Beaten Path“, or in the huge roomy drum sound in general.
The band bought their own studio just before the recordings of „Versus“, which made the recording process both easier and harder. „It’s easy to play around too much when you don’t have studio time that is costing money“, comments Almberg. The effect-saturated vocals, which were a trademark on previous pg.lost releases, have disappeared on „Versus“, and given way to more keys and synths. “Kristian was in the middle of heavy touring with Cult of Luna playing keys every day during that time, so he had a lot of synth-based ideas for songs. I guess this has helped us to take the band into a bit of a new direction sound wise“, comments Almberg.
The fact that guitar player Mattias Bhatt is currently living in London, while the rest of the band is based in Sweden, has been a challenge for the making of this album. „We have always been a band that for the most part has made music through jam sessions. Nothing good comes out of 9 sessions and in the 10th session you strike gold. Now we had to be really focused during the few times we could actually meet. For this album, more song ideas were written at home by the individual band members, and then it went back and forth through the internet. Many times it was a real struggle and it felt like this way of doing it might not be the way for us. But then slowly but surely things started to crystallize.“
They sure did crystallize into an outstanding album. „Versus“ is a true post-rock masterpiece, an album loaded with great melancholy, heaviness and catchy musical ideas delivered in an incredible density of sound. It’s sometimes easy to forget that there are only 4 people creating these vast orchestral landscapes.

MONO’ s 9th album “Requiem For Hell” to be released on October 14th!
This album was produced, recorded and mixed by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago, and mastered by Bob Weston. Steve Albini, the producer and one of the main participants of this album, was already a producer for 3 of MONO’s albums in the past, and just last year, his band Shellac played their first Japan tour in 23 years as a co-headliner tour with MONO. After the recordings, MONO and Shellac shared the stage again in North America.
“Requiem For Hell” features 5 songs. Unlike the last double album “The Last Dawn / Rays Of Darkness”, which re-visited the band’s early sound, MONO introduces strings once again, showing broader dynamics and a wider range of sounds.

“This album is a series of songs from a flood of inspirations in 2015. After writing song after song and giving them titles, we stumbled upon Dante’s “Divine Comedy” and the story struck a chord with us. “Divine Comedy” is a story about travelling down to Hell, through to purgatory… this is when we decided to use Gustave Dóre’s illustration from “Divine Comedy”’s last scene as the main cover.”
“Requiem For Hell” comes as a 2xLP in a special slipcase cover with a die cut hole on the back side, printed inner sleeves and an engraving on side D, showing a foetus.

“Our long-time friend Jeremy (the owner of our American label Temporary Residence) had his first-born, she was named Ely. Jeremy had been sending us photos and her heartbeats from long before she was born. When Ely was born, we decided to dedicate one of our songs to her, with hopes of her listening to it when she is grown up, and decided to use her heartbeats as an intro on the song “Ely’s Heartbeat”.

“Óveður” is the name of a new song Sigur Rós debuted during recent festival performances, and also served as the soundtrack for the band’s 24-hour “slow TV” “Route One” stream. Now, as the stream comes to an end, the band has premiered the full studio version of the song via a new video.
Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund shot the clip in the village of Grindavík on the Reykjanes peninsular. Icelandic choreographer Erna Ómarsdóttir features in the video as an unkempt drunk stumbling her way through town. She eventually hits upon a smokey bar, where members of Sigur Rós are having a drink with some other interesting characters. Things take a bloody and briefly nude turn, so consider this a slight NSFW warning.

2016年1月初,差不多是一年中最冷的时候,惘闻在大连完成了乐队第九张唱片的录制,与以往不同,我们第一次找来了Wouter和Lode兄弟俩作为唱片的制作人。这张唱片总共收录了6首长曲和1首录自于废弃厂房中的人声作品,它们都是在过去的三年中创作的,最终的录音在原始创作的基础上改动了不少,乐队希望在一个作品中表述更多的内容和情绪,做更多的线索和矛盾冲突,而制作人则希望把一切脉络梳理的更清晰,双方的这种拉扯达到了最终的某种平衡结果。对惘闻而言,它是我们认知和探索自身和外在世界的又一次尝试。

过去的几年,感觉时间轴绷上了弹簧,加速度使人充满了莫名的兴奋和窒息感。才刚习惯的十年一代的讲法也已经过时,眼前的生活如速度失控的幻灯片般闪烁变幻。移动网络似乎把人与人拉得很近,其实是改变了我们的存在方式,让今天的“关系”成为一堆堆坚硬的数据模块, 不灭不净,无法交融,你甚至不能选择不参与其中,随之深深坠入时空堆积过载又不断撕裂的缝隙中。

越过岁月鸿沟就是Sweet Home, Go了?是的,不过是另一个岁月鸿沟,英语的。音乐总是或轻或重,但它从来不是精神糖果或者情绪解药,但我总是幻想着它那强大的气流能让时间暂停,把你我从冰冷的深渊喷到九霄云外,然后摔到粉身碎骨。

Mogwai release their stunning soundtrack to the documentary by prolific director, Mark Cousins; Atomic: Living In Dread and Promise which was aired on BBC Four last summer. The soundtrack has been especially re-recorded for release at the band's Castle Of Doom Studios in Glasgow. Guest appearances on the album come from occasional band member Luke Sutherland, Sophie and former The God Machine's Robin Proper-Sheppard and Glasgow composer Robert Newth. Artwork includes images from the film and comes in the form of CD, double gatefold heavy pressed vinyl with download code and digital download. As with their soundtrack to the Zidane documentary, the band will be performing this soundtrack live at dates across the world throughout 2016.

The Wilder ness is Explosions In The Sky's sixth album, and first non-soundtrack release since 2011’s Take Care, Take Care, Take Care. True to its title, The Wilderness explores the infinite unknown, utilizing several of the band’s own definitions of “space" (outer space, mental space, physical geography of space) as compositional tools. The band uses their gift for dynamics and texture in new and unique ways—rather than intuitively fill those empty spaces, they shine a light into them to illuminate all the colors of the dark.
