Life Support is the upcoming debut studio album by American singer Madison Beer, scheduled to be released by Epic Records on February 26, 2021.

Kristina Esfandiari and her band move from the darkness to light on their second album, taking liberally from post-rock, grunge, and doom metal to tell a tale equally inspired by a childhood brush with death and Paradise Lost.

This is the story of two sisters who nurtured a dream for half a century and never let it die. Vicki and Ronni Gossett launched their musical career as teenagers in Whittier, California in 1966. They called themselves the Female Species. Members came and went; their base of operations moved to Las Vegas, back to LA, and over to Nashville. Along the way their sound transformed from garage rock to lounge to country-pop, the only constant being an innate mastery of hooks and harmony. These ladies had it.
Along the way, they crossed paths with The Carpenters, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Judds, and seemingly half of the industry's power players, rebuffing all untoward advances, focused always on their craft. In the 1980s they became staff songwriters for music publishing companies in the hit-making business. Relentless pushing landed them a once in a lifetime audition before the court of RCA’s top executives — the kind of new talent showcase that almost never happens after 30. Vicki and Ronni were by then in their 40s.
Tale of My Lost Love is the whole story from beginning to end of two sisters who gave everything to their dream, yet never made a single record... until now. When Linda Smith purchased a 4 track cassette recorder in the mid-1980s she was playing guitar in a band called The Woods, and thought it would be useful for sharing demos with her bandmates. In the end, the new hobby followed her from New York back to her native Baltimore, and over the next decade she’d release several albums worth of delicate, bewitching solo music on cassette. Till Another Time: 1988-1996 is the first retrospective collection of Smith’s charmingly lo-fi music.
Sparse and gentle, Linda’s music is tinged with lovelorn melancholy despite the sweetness of her voice. Over ‘60s pop-indebted melodies on tracks like 'A Crumb Of Your Affection', she delivers observations with an earnest softness. Elsewhere, her voice takes on a post punk deadpan, as on 'I See Your Face.' The effect of both modes is a haunting charm, equally reminiscent of early Cherry Red Records and ‘60s yé-yé.
With a no-nonsense approach to recording, Linda recorded almost all of her songs at home. There was a creative freedom that came with recording on tape, and unbeknownst to her, this was a conclusion that many musicians were reaching at the time.
Unfortunately, the independence that made at-home recording appealing to Linda also made it difficult for her to reach a wider audience. Relying on niche publications, cassette trading, and word of mouth to share music, Linda released a few 7”s on labels like Slumberland and Harriet but remained relatively local in terms of reach. Nevertheless, one can trace a direct line from Linda Smith to the ubiquity of bedroom recording today.

Home-recorded demos from 2018-2019, most of which were used for "Dead Kids, R.I.P. City". These alternate versions range from crude to realized but are an integral part of the story. Stand outs include a much different take on "I Needed The Pain" and "So Cherry", a song that didn't make the cut despite several lines being used for "Swept Away" on "Premium Drifter".

Azealia Banks’ debut Broke With Expensive Taste doesn’t arrive until next year, but she has already revealed the tracklisting. The Harlem rapper posted a handwritten note on Instagram with the 16 tracks including the hit single “212,” “Yung Rapunxel,” and the Pharrell-assisted “ATM Jam,” with appearances from Theophilus London, Toko Yasuda, and Kevin Hussein.
It took her three years to finish the album. “I was totally bluffing when 212 blew up. I literally had NO other material and didn’t know if I even knew how to make a body of work,” tweeted Azealia. “I did it! This is such a feat! creating a body of work has been my secret battle with myself since 17.”
She is already working on her second album, Fantasea II, and plans to drop a single from that before Broke With Expensive Taste is released.
