法国来华耶稣会士马若瑟的汉语研究代表作《汉语札记》，是西方汉语研究史上第一部同时介绍白话和文言的语法著作，首次尝试突破拉丁文法的范式来描写汉语语法，对欧洲汉学史和世界汉语教育史都产生了深刻影响。

《语言失落与文化生存：北美印第安语衰亡研究》上海海事大学外国语学院英语一系教授蔡永良在其博士论文的基础上对以美国为代表的北美印第安语衰亡历程和原因的研究。从印第安语本身的流变、印白语言接触、美国建国后语言政策及语言教育对印第安语存亡的影响、美国社会历史变迁对印第安语存亡的影响，参考了尽可能多的中外文资料，做了较为详尽的梳理和一定的研究。

John L. Austin" was one of the leading philosophers of the twentieth century. The William James Lectures presented Austin's conclusions in the field to which he directed his main efforts on a wide variety of philosophical problems.
