分鐘的专辑，却让我爱得死去活来。怎么说呢？
这时Miles Davis的想法中已经不再是传统爵士乐，不只是那些钢琴、贝斯、Sax、鼓，还有追著先辈的步伐，沈重而蹣跚地走在前人的阴影下，在夹缝中寻找生存的契机，反之，他由60年代中期以来，脑子开始出走神游，由灵魂乐教父James Brown（此公曾因在舞台上表演过於投入及兴奋，当眾昏倒）、Sly And the Family Stone（此队人马的音乐会让你的细胞变成黑人那样有强烈的韵律和节奏感）、Jimi Hendrix（此君跟我同一月日出生，所以很伟大，喔不！他是个左撇子，吉电他在他手上於30年前弹出的音效，据闻至今依旧让许多吉他爱好者抓破了头皮还是弹不出来）得来的灵感，融入了Jazz音乐中，成了通了电的Miles Davis。

Jaga Jazzist (also known as Jaga) is a Norwegian experimental jazz band, that rose to prominence when the BBC named their second album, A Livingroom Hush (Smalltown Supersound/Ninja Tune), the best jazz album of 2002.

专辑简介 这张“早安．幸福”是她加盟Blue Note的首张发行，也是她第一次踏进国际大厂的作品。全片由她的萨克斯风手老公汤姆．林森担任制作和编曲，全片以吉他、键盘、贝斯、鼓和萨克斯风这样的小型五人组合搭配，清清淡淡的传统爵士伴奏，衬托肯特的轻柔嗓音，正好捕捉到她声音那种擅于掌握浪漫情歌的那一面。在这些乐手的搭配下，整张专辑呈现出更像她现场演唱会的爵士风格，也与她过去专辑采用较多弦乐、走情歌取向的作风截然不同，其中尤其是John Parricelli连换六把吉他那细腻的声音，主导了整张专辑的音乐织体。这张专辑更特别的是，特别邀请到她的头号歌迷，小说

片中另一件值得一提的是，史黛西肯特唱了两首法文歌曲，这也不是她以前专辑中会出现的曲子，片中她选了两首都是由著名的法国多才多艺的歌手Serge Gainsbourg所创作的。另外则唱了一首Baden Powell和Vinicius de Moraes为1966年电影“男欢女爱”（A Man and a Woman）所写的芭莎诺瓦名曲。同样的芭莎诺瓦歌曲还有Sergio Mendes在1968年创作的“So Many Stars”。另一首意外则是摇滚乐团Fleetwood Mac在1970年代的歌曲“Landslide”。当然是一再被用在电影和广告中的经典名曲“What a Wonderful World”。

西元一九五五年左右，靠待在老家打拳击而克服毒瘾，准备东山再起的小号手Miles Davis正在筹组五重奏乐团。他心目中萨克斯风手的第一志愿是当红的Sonny Rollins，无奈事与愿违，最後仅落到个第三志愿John Coltrane。这个一开始让Davis不甚满意的乐团变成了爵士史上最重要的五重奏组合，并在西元一九五六年留下了传世经典的「ING系列」。所以，在今天的《爵士挖挖挖》节目中，要为听众朋友挖出来的秘辛就是：「为什麽Miles Davis这麽喜欢Sonny Rollins，非把他放在组团时的第一志愿？」於是我们翻开了Miles Davis的作品年监，发现Davis与Sonny Rollins合作的录音实在少，不过在西元一九五一年十月五日有过一次重要邂逅，而这场录音当然就成了解密重点。这次录音的阵容一字排开，赫然是爵士乐的全明星会，除了Davis与Rollins之外，萨克斯风手Jackie McLean也是核心人物。这几个家伙在西元一九五一年时充其量仅能算是初出茅庐的小子，但是「大将之风」这具成语用在这里就恰当了，即使这份录音并不是他们个人的最佳表现，音乐中显现的无穷潜力还是值得一听再听的理由之一。理由之二则是Rollins与McLean初生之犊不畏虎的精采吹奏，不过二十岁与十九岁的二个小鬼能有这样的演出，也难怪Miles Davis一见就难忘。对了，这次录音还有二首曲子收录在另一张Conception专辑里，如果见着了也一并抱回家吧！ 台北爵士夜节目主持人 沈鸿元

Tenor saxophonist Joe McPhee has been a cult figure in the jazz world despite a string of releases on the visible Hat Art label and vocal support from the likes of Ken Vandermark. Nation Time is good evidence why. Its three tracks were recorded live in December 1970 and released the following year on the tiny independent CjR Records. "Nation Time" and "Scorpio's Dance" feature McPhee with a quintet that mixes electric and acoustic instruments with dual percussionists. In a way, this is familiar territory, working Coltrane-inspired repetitions and a nearly reckless group interplay against a variety of musical textures. Here some electric piano or full-speed drumming, there roughly wailed sax or a trumpet pushing notes to a near drone. But no matter how familiar the approach, the end result is inventive and captivating as these two pieces shift from nearly conventional extended improvisations to less structured sound without ever sounding forced. However, it's the 13-minute "Shakey Jake" that seems like the birth of a wonderful new style that unfortunately never went any further. With the quintet expanded by an alto sax, organist, and electric guitarist, McPhee gets busy marrying free jazz to James Brown funk or maybe creating a vision of what would have happened if early-'60s Coltrane had revisited his R&B youth. The band sets up a complex but danceable groove while the soloists surf along, twisting melodies and pushing the beat but never relying on repeated riffs. Despite their various ideas and overlapped solos, the effect is collaborative not competitive as if they realized what a rare experience this would be.

Leandro "Gato" Barbieri was an Argentine jazz tenor saxophonist who rose to fame during the free jazz movement in the 1960s and is known for his Latin jazz recordings of the 1970s. His nickname, Gato, is Spanish for "cat".

「When I Fall In Love」为伯堤的第7张个人专辑，也是他加盟新力的第三张专辑，邀请到曾为Blood, Sweat & Tears鼓手的著名制作人Bobby Colomby操刀，如同专辑名称挑选的都是最经典的情歌：西雅图夜未眠的浪漫主题曲 "When I Fall In Love"、爵士大师盖西文名曲 "Someone To Watch Over Me"。请到了曾经获得葛莱美最佳新人加冕的才女歌手宝拉寇儿(Paula Cole)合作了 "What’ll I Do"及 "How Love Should Be"两首情歌。更难得的是请到了好友流行西洋巨星史汀跨刀並与吉他手Dominic Miller(曾与Sting合作 "Shape Of My Heart")一同创作並演唱了 "La Belle Dame Sans Regrets"。

1962年發行的這張專輯收錄的曲目以Duke Ellington的經典為主，演奏雖以Coltrane的四除奏擔綱，但節奏部分則以Duke Ellington慣常合作的貝斯手Aaron Bell、鼓手Sam Woodyard擔任，聆聽者可由Coltrane的主奏風格中聽到Duke Ellington作品的另一優秀的詮釋，如"In A Sentimental Mood"的高潮迭起，或是"Take A Coltrane"、"Big Nick"與"My Little Brown Book"等讓人記憶深刻的演奏，都值得推薦聆賞。 　 鋼琴手Don Shirley說「雖然Duke Ellington不是上帝，但已不遠矣！」說明了Duke Ellington在爵士樂壇的重要地位，身兼作曲、編曲者及樂隊領班，以無限的才華寫下無數的經典，並創下樂隊50年的榮景。而Coltrane則是以優雅充滿靈性的薩克斯風聲響，不斷超越自我並以豐富的作品建構成音樂版圖的爵士樂巨人，一舉改變人們對爵士演奏的人認知。
