Four years after the release of their landmark debut in 2004, MTV VMA Award-winning, Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum Island Records group The Killers have completed their fourth album - and first new studio album in two years - DAY & AGE, featuring the new single, "Human" debuting worldwide September 22nd, while the digital single will be released September 30th. The new album hits stores November 25th - two days before Thanksgiving.
DAY & AGE was produced by Stuart Price, a key figure in electronic music (Les Rhythmes Digitales) who previously worked with The Killers on "Don't Shoot Me Santa," their 2007 Christmas single; as well as music on their 2007 compilation, Sawdust. Over the past five years, Price has worked as a producer, mixer, programmer, and keyboardist, including The Killers' "Mr Brightside" remix which was Grammy Nominated.
The Killers - Brandon Flowers on vocals and keyboards, guitarist David Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci - found time to complete their new album while also wrapping up their biggest summer rock festival season in the U.S. and abroad. Historic headlining gigs at England's prestigious Leeds and Reading fests coincided with an appearance on the cover of NME's August 8th issue. Earlier in 2008, the Killers took home top honors for Best Band of the Year and Best Track of the Year ("Tranquilize") at the annual NME Awards USA gala, at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on April 23rd.
DAY & AGE comes one year after the release of Sawdust (November 2007), a 17-song collection of previously unreleased session tracks, B-sides, rarities and one-offs. The album was assembled at a recording studio in New York's Hell's Kitchen, where the Killers worked with Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Lou Reed two recordings. Two singles and videos were issued: "Shadowplay" (from the motion picture soundtrack of Control, Anton Corbijn's biopic of Ian Curtis), and "Tranquilize".
The Killers' RIAA platinum second album Sam's Town (October 2006) debuted at #2 and spun off two hit singles: the #1 Modern Rock "When You Were Young," nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song and Best Short Form Music Video; and "Read My Mind," the band's first #1 at Triple-A. Their worldwide 5 million-selling debut Hot Fuss (June 2004) was the longest-running rock album inside the top 50 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for all of 2005, logging 94 weeks on the chart - 53 of those inside the Top 50. The album spun off four solid hit singles - the Grammy-nominated anthem, "Somebody Told Me," the VMA-winning (and Grammy-nominated) "Mr. Brightside," the Modern rock hit "Smile Like You Mean It," and the Grammy-nominated "All These Things That I've Done."

这张tiger lou的首张专辑有着非常奇妙的段落结构.
第一段便是专辑的前四首歌,这四首纯粹的民谣充分回归到了Gone Drifting 7这张EP的风格."Not True, Devil Girl"做为开场,吉他的伴奏甚至有浓厚的乡土气息.这张专辑多是短小精悍的歌曲,这首歌便是如此,只有2分多钟.在一段很长的吉他solo收尾结束后,悠悠扬扬地引出了"Out On A Limb".这是一首有些悲凉的抒情小品,浅浅的吟唱随性而不加修饰.tiger lou的声线在这样纯粹的民谣歌曲中明显饱满了很多,带着很重的鼻音,不再那么干涩.接着便是同名歌曲"Second Time Around"了,这首歌稍微夹杂了些美国西部的情调,调子开始变得活泼起来,可tiger的唱腔却越加沉稳了,或者可以说,是鼻音更加重了."You can't say no to me"是第一个段落的最后一首,也是爆发前的沉寂.同第二首"Out On A Limb"一样,也是慢板的抒情小品,也是这张中我最喜欢的两首歌曲.这4首歌是导致我喜欢这张专辑的最大原因.这样的歌曲,这样的嗓音,虽然恬淡无比,其实却分外摇曳.
奇妙的第二段的打头"Born in the USA",无论是风格还是歌名都让我觉得这首歌不该属于tiger lou.而确实,这次的主角换成了一个有着尖利嗓音的不知名的女人,tiger只是作了和声.这首歌的节奏是很典型的punk,那个女人的腔调也像极了yeah yeah yeahs.两分半钟的全曲,酣畅淋漓,但接下来的感觉却突然峰回路转."Take Me To The Water",这首歌搬出了tiger lou之前一直没有用过的钢琴作为唯一的伴奏,只是在歌曲的中段反复吟唱了几句"take me to the water",歌曲的结束无声无息.就好似经历了一晚"Born in the USA"的忘情疯狂后,在凌晨刚破晓时却回到了冷冰冰的现实世界.我的脑海里有这样一副场景:tiger lou离开了那个女人,和那个曾经喧闹的房间,就如歌名一般,走到湖边,被一团团灰蒙蒙的晨雾包围,眼神呆滞,神情淡漠.
我相信这是一张有着故事情节的奇妙的专辑.

这张唱片确实如开头曲一样,基调非常多愁善感。整体看来没有什么大风大浪,都是一些小甜蜜小伤心之类的情感,就连爱情在这里也变得微不足道,可就是这些奢侈的氛围牵引着情绪的波动,让整张唱片的乐感和情感显得很个人,字调弥足珍贵。Sentimental Heart很有开场曲的样子,平淡如水,在两段副歌之后,和声渐进,透露出小小的伤感。
很难在网上找到这支组合的相关资料,所以无法确定他们来自哪里,曲风什么的。总觉得听这张唱片像是一场全美旅行,随着歌曲的改变,逛便美国的各大城市。 This Is Not A Test像是温暖的加洲阳光,欢快坚定,让我想到了橘子郡男孩里面的蓝天和夕阳。Change Is Hard洋溢着加勒比海的咸味,大家永远沉浸在一片和平的状态,大胆享受生活,我特喜欢里面的那句“Change is hard,i should know ”。到了I Was Made For You这里,镜头一下子转到了阿拉巴马,热情愉悦的氛围弥漫在空气中,农家人的那种朴质纯真呈现在眼前,特别有感觉。Got Me带着我们来到了德克萨斯,缓慢舒服的节奏中西部人民怡然自得地过日子,这让我想起了海绵Bob里面的那只松鼠Sundy,有一集她想起了自己戴牛仔帽在家乡豪放地生活,典型的西部生活摆在了眼前。I Should Have Known Better的感觉是夏威夷的,草裙舞,花环,微风,海水,果汁,满满的,在这支歌里面你还可以听到女主唱隐约的笑声呢。Sweet Darlin'完全回到了80年代的芝加歌乐队风格,充满了希望,让我想到了Chicago乐队。
当然除了这些,其他的歌也都很好听。I Thought I Saw Your Face Today的唱的部分和配乐之间的搭配速度不均的样子,可却很顺耳,感觉有点用童年感觉唱青涩爱情的味道,钢琴和口哨声显得可爱极了,就是一首偏执的小情歌。Take It Back和You Really Gotta Hold On Me有那点软爵士的味道,小小的庸懒配合着男生沙哑的和声,很适合一个人静静品位。Black Hole也是西部的味道,轻轻松松的。
另外这张唱片有一张没有名字的Bonus曲目来作为Ending,原声态的录音状态,不加任何修饰,应该就是在录音室弄的Live版本,清淡得很。
总的来说呢,这是一张非常不错的唱片,让人充满联想。不仅唱片封面好看,内容也很好听,而且耐听。(资料来自网路)

At the turn of the twenty-first century, the New York City music scene floated in a surfaceless orbit of samplers, shoegazers, and delay pedals. The city's guitars lay choked by a digital fog, or else they lay dustily forgotten. Then, in 2002, an unbridled five-song EP by an unknown band brought noise, sex, passion, and mayhem back to the stage and to the stereo. The band's name evoked the kid who knows that whoever's in charge is full of s**t -- "yeah, yeah, yeah" -- but it also rang with the affirmation of pure rock and roll: F**k yeah! The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' first full-length album, Fever to Tell, was simultaneously filthy, infectious, sloppy, and brilliant. You could dance to it, and you could probably die to it. "Maps" was nominated for a Grammy, and the record went gold in the UK.
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs spawned a new breed of power trio. They work together as a single organism, but each member maintains their own personality and contributes their own strengths. Think of them as a three-piece Earth, Wind, and Fire. On second thought, it's probably better if you didn't do that. Brian Chase's drumming couldn't be tighter or more precise, even as the band descends into the pitch-dark caves of noise he frequents in his free-jazz spare time--and one can hear rigor and experiment behind even his simplest, no-frills (or -fills) rhythms. Nick Zinner's guitar pushes back--hard--against Chase's formalism, grounding the group in rock and roll at its ballsiest, dirtiest, and most shredly. His soaring, sometimes grinding lines are wires connecting Chase's drums to the psychologically kaleidoscopic vocals of Karen O, who, as the New Yorker has noted, would have been a success "had she appeared with nothing more than a microphone and a pair of maracas."
The band developed an itchy and unshakeable aversion to repeating itself. It would have been easy enough to record another spastic, live-sounding garage album after the success of Fever, but their next full-length, 2007's Show Your Bones, added acoustic guitar and more serious compositions that picked up on the direction suggested by a song like "Maps." Rolling Stone called the record a "textural triumph," and the group honed their legendary stage performance -- one cannot understand the Yeah Yeah Yeahs without seeing Karen O writhing and thriving onstage. A handful of great songs that didn't make it onto Bones became tour staples (and fan favorites), and the band sat down with the celebrated PiL/Slits/Gang of Four producer Nick Launay to record 2007's EP Is Is.
Last year, the Yeahs shook their Etch A Sketch® clean to start work on a new record with producers Dave Sitek and Nick Launay. "We usually go into these things totally blind," Karen O said. "We have no idea what's going to happen when we sit down." This empty page feeling was helped by geography: they began writing the record in the middle of a snowstorm, in a hundred-year-old barn in rural Massachusetts. "You looked out the window and it was just pastures and pastures of snow-covered fields," she said. Zinner had brought along a synthesizer to work with during the writing session, not expecting it to end up on the album. "That was an old keyboard I bought on eBay," he said. "Literally, it was the first day we were setting up, plugging things in. Ten minutes later, we'd written that song 'Skeletons.'" The song--and the whole record--have a new feeling of space and atmosphere that's unusual for the band. "Obviously, synths have been in rock music forever," Zinner says. "But to us it feels new, which is all we really care about--that excitement."
It's Blitz! signals both a glance backward and a step forward for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Zinner's vintage Arp--the same model used on records by The Cars, Joy Division, and Kraftwerk--contributes atmospheric washes ("Skeletons"), disco wiggles ("Dance till you're dead!" Karen sings on "Heads Will Roll"), and New Wave melodrama ("Soft Shock"). The first single, "Zero," combines all these elements to create a dance-floor anthem that sings directly to the listener. "We've got a death grip on the adolescent way of feeling things," O said. That's something I'll never be able to shake in the music I write. It's almost feels like a John Hughes 80s movie." But acknowledging the past in this way doesn't sound make for a nostalgic-sounding album. "I think there's a cool stability reflected in this record," Brian Chase says. "It reflects our transformation, and how we've developed as people."

Baby 81 is an album by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It is their fourth studio album and was released on April 30, 2007 in Europe and on May 1, 2007 in the U.S.. The album features a harder, more raw sound compared with their previous record Howl. It was also a studio comeback for drummer Nick Jago who was unable to participate during the recordings of Howl (other than the last track recorded during the sessions, 'Promise'). A DualDisc edition of the album was set to be released on May 1 in the U.S.; however, it has since been canceled.
The album debuted at number 46 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling about 14,000 copies in its first week.[1]
The album title refers to Baby 81, a survivor of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake.
The track "Weapon Of Choice" is featured in the bonus setlist in Guitar Hero: World Tour and as downloadable content for Rock Band.

Bon Iver’s new album will have 10 tracks, each inspired by a different place. Perth, named after the Australian city, is a “Civil War-sounding heavy metal song” with martial drums, choir and “wailing guitars”. Minnesota Wisconsin lays Stetson’s bass saxophone over Vernon’s finger-picked guitar, and the album closer, Beth/Rest, is “definitely the part where you pick up your joint and relight it”.
