Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio-or as it is sometimes referred to, DLO3-specialize in the lost art of "feel good music." The ingredients of this intoxicating cocktail include a big helping of the 1960s organ jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Baby Face Willette; a pinch of the snappy soul strut of Booker T. & The M.G.'s and The Meters; and sprinkles Motown, Stax Records, blues, and cosmic Jimi Hendrix-style guitar. It's a soul-jazz concoction that goes straight to your heart and head makes your body break out in a sweat.
The band features organist Delvon Lamarr, a self-taught virtuosic musician, with perfect pitch who taught himself jazz and has effortlessly been able to play a multitude of instruments. On guitar is the dynamo Jimmy James who eases through Steve Cropper-style chanking guitar, volcanic acid-rock freak-out lead playing, and slinky Grant Green style jazz. From Reno, Nevada is drummer Dan Weiss (also of the powerhouse soul and funk collective The Sextones). Dan's smoldering pocket-groove drumming locks in the trio's explosive chemistry. Founded by Larmarr's wife and manager Amy Novo, the trio started from humble beginnings in 2015, but since then has released two Billboard charting albums and toured the world to sold out venues. The trio returns now with their second studio album, I Told You So, with even heavier grooves and more confidence. It may have been several years since their most recent studio effort, but they haven't missed a beat.

2020年暑假，9m88在两厅院夏日爵士音乐节的演出中，与合作的爵士乐手们将3首《平庸 之上》的专辑曲目改成更具爵士风味的编曲，因这场演出而促成的“暂时”编制，不但促成 了本张 EP 的诞生，也成为本张 EP 名称 《This Temporary Ensemble 暂时集合》的由来。
本张EP除收录当时音乐节演出的改编曲目外，并特别收录一首从发行，带著拉丁风格的新曲〈Eyes〉，让经过 The New School Jazz 学习的9m88得以展现不同于以往的她。

9m88（读作Joanne Baba），是一位生于中国台北，长居纽约的音乐人。刚来到纽约时，她是一位爵士乐主音歌手，随后，她开始对多元类型的音乐产生兴趣，包括爵士, R&B, 流行乐和即兴音乐演奏等。Baba以她在音乐中所注入的生动而复古的画面感而闻名。她的歌词通常以日常生活为材，讲述每一个个体苦乐参半的故事。

今年1月に急逝したシンガー浅川マキのオフィシャルベストアルバム「Long Good-bye」が、EMIミュージック・ジャパンより10月17日にリリースされる。
日本のアンダーグラウンドシーンに欠かすことのできないカリスマ的存在として、寺山修司をはじめとする多くの演劇人や文化人、アーティストに愛された浅川マキ。「Long Good-bye」はデビュー以来彼女を支え、見守ってきた歴代スタッフによって選曲・構成された2枚組ベストアルバムで、初CD化音源10曲を含む計 32曲が収められる。
また、本作のブックレットは、1stアルバム「浅川マキの世界」から浅川を撮り続けてきた写真家・田村仁が所有する写真の中から、未発表のものを選りすぐった32ページの写真集となっている。

A band as kinetic as L’Eclair cannot stay idle. So when the pandemic hit, they stayed true to form and began recording a new album. With their former records usually recorded in a few days, live to tape, they took a decidedly different approach with this LP. Recorded in four sessions spread out over nine months, the group and their trusted engineer (and manager) Benoit Erard were able to spend more time, energy, and consideration on the production. This new approach gave them the ability to reflect and revise, allowing them to focus more on composition, arrangements and structures. The result is their fourth album Confusions: a sprawling hour-long, 12 track record- their most diverse, concise, and focused effort to date.
Confusions finds L’Eclair finding themselves, having distilled their mastery of groove and rhythm down to a science. Club vibes, psych grooves, rhythmic trances, and ambient comedowns are all present in equal measure, while maintaining a cohesive and consistent flavor throughout. Confusions is both expertly crafted and joyfully spontaneous, danceable yet ethereal, emotive yet cerebral. The shifting moods and melodies imbue the album with a depth that demands repeat listens.
Their influences are on full display here, with nods to CAN, Piero Umiliani, and Tangerine Dream- seamlessly blended with the unique sound L’Eclair has established over the years. New influences are also apparent, such as the house grooves of 80’s Madchester and Aphex twin, as well as the textures and ambience of Boards of Canada. As with past L’Eclair releases, Confusions is sure to attract some fans of hip-hop, recalling the likes of producers Madlib, MF doom, and Dilla. The ever-present dub and house influences bubble up here and there but despite the many inspirations behind Confusions, the sound is pure L’Eclair.

以Ry Cooder为首的‘Buena Vista Social Club’看似消失昵迹已久无人过问。然而，从这张唱片不但获得葛莱美奖甚至享誉国际便知他们在乐坛地位始终屹岦不摇。
来谈谈Buena Vista Social Club的历史。所谓的social club，社交俱乐部，在1959年古巴革命之后就消失了。《乐士浮生录》中一开始寻找的social club，已经变成私人的住宅。1959年之后，古巴在政治、历史、经济上，都面临新的局面。音乐方面，古巴政府鼓励「传统诗谣之家」，取代有阶级意味的social club。诗谣之家多半演唱传统的经典古巴歌谣，通常乐团编制很简单，包括吉他、Maracas（沙铃）、Congas (一种手鼓) 等，较少用到大编制的乐团形式。一般古巴人晚上皆可走进诗谣之家，听这些传统歌谣。而现在大家在市面上看到的录音作品，包括五大录音厂牌，或是ＥＣＭ发行的古巴音乐，许多就是在诗谣之家录的。
很有意思的是，当初Buena Vista Social Club的录音计划，并不是要做成现在我们听到的风格。这个计划是由英国的World Circuit 唱片公司主持，World Circuit大概有十年的历史，擅长于拉丁美洲及非洲音乐，制作的专辑包括过去古巴音乐史上一些重要的乐手。当时World Circuit是想要将非洲及古巴的乐手放在一起演出，从中找出历史上这两种音乐相互辉映的关系。他们本来找了两位非洲乐 手来古巴，但这两位乐手却没有出现，当时已经到了哈瓦那的Ry Cooder和唱片公司人员只好开始找当地的一些老乐手来录音，才成就了这张Buena Vista Social Club。也因为这样，改写了今天整个拉丁音乐的乐史。
虽然不是在顶尖录音室录制，质量也不是最优。不过透过Ruben Gonzalez感性的钢琴声、Omara Portuondo充满磁性的低音和 Ibrahim Ferrer's浑厚的歌喉将带领听众一同感受拉丁音乐风情。
自从1999年文德斯将自己在古巴的经历拍成音乐纪录片《乐满哈瓦那 Buena Vista Social Club》后，立即卷起全球古巴音乐热潮。也让人更多地开始关注这个神奇的国度和它本身孕育的音乐!
Buena Vista Social Club本是于1949年在古巴首都哈瓦那开张营业的社交会所，舞台上有大乐队演出，台下则是舞池，是年轻男女热门谈情说爱听歌跳舞之地。当年演奏的乐手，因政治混乱而解散，Social Club也关门大吉。1996年，监制Ry Cooder来到哈瓦那，寻回当年基本音乐班底，灌录唱片《Buena Vista Social Club》，于1997年推出，当即荣获美国格莱美音乐大奖。
哪怕你是一个对古巴音乐一无所知的人，听到了《乐满哈瓦那 Buena Vista Social Club》里那些仿佛自然流淌出来的音乐，也会爱上这片土地。古巴音乐的配器大多很简单，比如最基础的沙锤和木吉他，沙锤定节奏，吉他出旋律。钢琴演奏往往受爵士乐风的影响，铜管乐器则是较为轻佻的元素。古巴音乐的旋律性和节奏感结合的非常之好，被乐迷奉为“打击乐的麦加”，音乐里又兼有难得的轻柔感，同时兼具微妙宁静和强而有力的双重品格。
Ry Cooder曾说：“在古巴，音乐就像河水一样流淌。”他还说，音乐就像掘宝，你要不停地挖啊挖，才能找到宝藏。因为隔世良久，他们挖掘到的古巴音乐中，有一种很土的东西，类似于更接近原声态的民歌，有时候很伤感，但不是爵士乐孤独的伤感，而是有点情节剧式的，旋律简单又辗转反侧。音乐在古巴，像化石一样被保留下来。
到了后来，Ry Cooder作为美国音乐人兼制作人，被视为20世纪90年代古巴音乐再发现的最重要人物之一。Buena Vista Social Club作为乐队，完全是他生造出来的。他把那些散落民间、几乎已经湮没无闻的、上了年纪的古巴传奇音乐人，重新召集到一起，录音、排练、演出。这些音乐人，他们大部分互相认识，以前在这样那样的乐队中有过合作。这个大乐队，也同时组合了古巴音乐的不同风格，SON，CAMPESINO，BOLERO等，成为一个独一无二的组合。
乐队的成员由以下几人构成:
1927年出生的Ibrahim Ferrer 、1930年出生Omara Portuondo (这也是唯一的女性)、钢琴师Ruben Gonzalez…… 而1908年出生的吉他手和歌手Compay Segundo 更是古巴全民族的骄傲。2003年老人因肾衰竭去世，享年九十五岁。古巴国民为此感到十分悲痛，在Compay的棺木上更盖上国旗，整个哈瓦那都高唱着Compay Segundo 写下的那首经典的《Chan chan》……
想象一下，在哈瓦那自然绮丽的海湾，听着来自最民间的古巴音乐，抽上一口雪茄，你就会更明白这些终身的音乐斗士是怎样用生命来谱写音乐，它也必然把你打动！

Eddie Higgins爱德华·海登·希金斯1932年2月21日在美国马萨诸塞州的剑桥降生。童年一直由他的母亲教育他。大学时，希金斯在芝加哥的夜总会裏演奏钢琴。有时他领导他自己的三重奏组合，但是他有时也和包括艾尔·格雷，科尔曼·霍金斯，弗雷迪·哈伯德等在内的知名艺术家合作演出。虽然他的曲目有折衷的感觉，但是希金斯的风格承载著跳舞乐队时代一些艺术家的明显痕迹。他善于独奏也善于伴奏，他常常与他的歌手妻子梅雷迪思·丹布罗西奥合作演出。
