网易:https://y.music.163.com/m/album?id=123124981 。 前几张过于激进实验,这张算是往回找补了一些,但还是回不到 come on die young 时期的巅峰了啊。想念第一次听《Christmas Steps》时带来的震撼。村上写过「从前地铁银座线的列车在停靠车站前一定会忽然熄灯,乘客大约有一秒钟被抛在黑暗中。不知何时设备(大概)改良过,这种情况也不复存在了」,「我觉得,坐过老式银座线列车的人和从没坐过的人,对人生由明转暗的承受力会有四五分差异」。如此的话,听过《Christmas Steps》的人和没听过的人,对人类复杂情感表达方式的理解也会有四五分差异吧。

Trapped in a cavern, it’s pitch black and the air is getting harder and harder to breathe. Disoriented, hands follow the walls to find what could be the ceiling, fingers digging into the rock to find something– anything– loose to help point toward a direction out. Suddenly, a rock frees itself and after clearing away some dirt, a pin of blinding light shines through the enveloping darkness. Clearing away soil and rock with more and more vigor, hope and salvation is just a short way from here.
This is PG.LOST’s Oscillate– the band’s latest LP packed to the gills with pure drama and catharsis. Their fifth overall and first effort since 2016’s much lauded Versus, Oscillate leans on an instrumental approach and while their keen understanding of tension/release may warrant comparison to the likes of MONO, Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, PG.LOST is unafraid to move into exciting new directions. With influences that range from the emotional heft of Big Thief to the inventive spirit of krautrock to the brutality of Neurosis to the dark experimentalism of COIL, these heavier elements intertwine and open up into wide-eyed expansiveness of Fennesz or Tim Hecker, revealing a beauty shimmering underneath and a range of depth rarely found in today’s over-compressed and spit-shined version of “modern music.”
In making the new LP, PG.LOST opted to keep it simple and follow their gut. “On the previous records we have always tried to make it very basic and clean when it comes to production, not too many overdubs or add-ons,” reveals bassist Kristian Karlsson. “This time was more about not thinking about that at all. We don’t try to over analyse our records– it always starts with one or two songs and they often set the mood of the rest of the writing process.I think this album has more layers to it– you hear new things every time you listen. We’re really looking forward to hearing what the listeners think.”
Kicking off with a blossoming dark ambient passage on the title track, an ascendant guitar/synth part builds tension until final release is achieved with a massive chorus, waves of eye-opening guitars and elephantine tribal drums. It’s emblematic of the album as a whole– massive in scope and even larger in sound, Oscillate is the true definition of its title with incredibly tense swells to the point of collapse leading to a slow but pensive disintegration. And again. And again. Oscillate is not just instrumental music, it’s cinematic– it’s high drama, executed in IMAX with a pristine soundtrack blasting at 120db.
Due in November via Pelagic Records, the LP was recorded by the band in their own studio, and mixed/mastered by Magnus Lindberg from Cult of Luna. In creating the LP, the only hurdle seemingly was an internal one and making efficient use of individual scheduling. “When we formed the band we spent almost every night in the rehearsal space,” recalls Karlsson. “Nowadays we only rehearse for tours or when we plan to have writing sessions for example upcoming records. It is not as spontaneous as it used to be, but I think it forces us to really make the best out of it when we do see each other.”
Founded in 2004 in Norrköping, Sweden, PG.LOST is Mattias Bhatt, Martin Hjertstedt (ex- Ghost), Gustav Almberg (The Great Discord) and Kristian Karlsson (Cult of Luna). Formed in pursuit of a singular love of post-rock, ambient and shoegaze with a bent towards post- metal, the band released their self-titled and the Yes, I Am EPs in 2006 and 2007. From there PG.LOST dropped their 2008 LP It’s Not Me, It’s You! quickly followed by 2009’s In Never Out, Key, the Wang Wen split LP and Versus followed in 2012, 2013 and 2016 respectively.
Sovereign in execution and mammoth in scope, Oscillate is ten tracks of pure dramatic bombast and a massive step forward for the decades-old band. The four years away have been worth it.

“第一次是先有了专辑名字才开始的歌曲创作,然而这也没有帮我们确定内容的框架和边界,大家一如既往的天马行空起来。唯一不同的是在《十万个为什么》创作的两年里,我不像以往那样在意专辑的时间计划和工作的节奏,开始喜欢上了这个过程本身。结果就是更多的时间在不断的试来试去,大部分时间里歌曲本身并没有太多进展,但这帮我解开了很多的“为什么”。就好似“十万个为什么”本来的源头 “One million Hows, two million Wheres,and seven million Whys!”总是有那么多需要弄明白的事情,也只有浸入在这个过程里才能逐渐理清自己的思路吧。

"Vespertine" is the musical score that This Will Destroy You composed for Chef Jordan Kahn's 2-Michelin Star restaurant of the same name. The score originally ran exclusively at the physical site of the restaurant in Culver City, California since its grand opening in late 2017. The program consists of seven pieces specifically written for moments within the building itself (and even the space around and on top of it).
The sequencing of the album is an attempt to mimic the order in which diners at Vespertine encounter different spaces throughout their experience. "Rumble" is the ever-present hum and ominous force surrounding the immediate exterior of the building. "Entrance" signifies the crossing over from the terrestrial realm into the inner atmosphere of "The Waffle" structure, where the evening begins to unfold. "Kitchen" is an warm, hospitable piece that accompanies a personal encounter with Chef Kahn. "Rooftop" and its celestially-inspired movements often pair perfectly with clear nights atop The Waffle. "Dining Room" sets the tone for a multi-course main dinner service. "Exit" is another transitional piece signifying the end of the main service and setting the stage for a supplemental experience. Finally, "Garden" welcomes diners back into a semi-terrestrial realm wherein after-dinner sweets and beverages accompany reflection upon the evening's moments, all in full view of the looming architectural monolith that is The Waffle.

Public Service Broadcasting are pleased to reveal the release of a double LP/CD live album of their sold-out performance at Brixton Academy from ‘The Race For Space’ Tour, recorded on 29 November 2015. “We first talked about the possibility of a live album and DVD a long while before Brixton and I have to confess that I ruled it out almost immediately” says frontman J. Willgoose, Esq. “I was persuaded over a few months, though, by both the reaction on the night - which was overwhelming - and of those who watched the stream as it went out live, that something special had occurred and it truly was worth documenting. Brixton had been a dream of mine ever since seeing the Manics there on their Everything Must Go tour many moons ago. Playing there as Public Service Broadcasting, and selling it out, was something I never even thought of as a possibility. It’s my favourite venue in the world and we wanted to make it a show to remember.”
The show features arena-level production crammed onto the Brixton stage with a 13- piece choir, 5-piece string section, expanded brass section, a longer set list, Smoke Fairies guesting on Valentina, a surprise special guest, dancers, pyrotechnics and more as the London-based band wow a hometown crowd with a very special performance. The release will be accompanied by a DVD filmed on the night along with an audio commentary from the band and bonus features.

Following up January’s Rave Tapes release, Scottish post-rock group Mogwai will be putting out an EP of new music and various remixes taken from those sessions on December 1. The EP, titled "Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1.", will be released on December 1 through Rock Action.
The EP will be comprised of three new tracks taken from the sessions for this year's 'Rave Tapes' LP alongside three remixes of tracks from the LP by Blanck Mass, Nils Frahm and Pye Corner Audio.
The EP was recorded at the band's Castle Of Doom studio in Glasgow with Paul Savage and will be available in digital, CD and limited edition 12-inch vinyl formats.

With this release we're hoping to raise money for Help Musicians and NHS charities via the release on Bandcamp. We know that a lot of people working in music have seen earnings disappear and that those working for the NHS are experiencing horrendous pressures dealing with the Covid 19 pandemic. By donating half of what we make in the first week, we hope to do something to help those in need. We're also aware that everyone has been affected financially and because of that we have made the record available on a pay-what-you-can basis.”

Silencia is the latest collection of evocative and lustrous compositions by the Nashville duo Hammock.
