Announced as the final Wappenbund release, after the albums "Zeitenwende" and "Preußen" and the EP's "Blood & fire" and "Zurück in der Heimat". The new album by this German martial act contains 6 new tracks. Wappenbund is the project of Sven Bussler, who is also active in most other Greyland Records acts, like Coinside (dark electro) and Wiener Aktivisten (industrial nosie). Recently Greyland announced the end of its existence.

"Kinder des Lichtes" is packaged in a high quality black cardboard sleeve. The album is dedicated tomentally disabled children. The artwork contains photos of adult people with growing disorders, taken from the cult movie 'Freaks' by Tod Browning (1932).

The cd starts with the overture 'Flammen'. It features an elegant female soprano voice, a lush neoclassical melody and bombastic percussion. The title track follows, which has the typical powerful Wappenbund sound. A martial atmosphere, choirs and classical melodies, heavy percussion and various samples. 'Andacht' is a more tranquil, atmospheric neoclassical piece, with a sacred feeling. 'Strahle in Ewigkeit' is a dense, somewhat spooky soundscape, with choirs, classical sound and harsh industrial noises. 'Frieda' is then again more martial and bombastic, with heavy percussion and a catchy synth melody. Probably the track with the most hit potential. The album is closed with 'Marche Funébre', a majestic and dramatic march.

Most tracks have an epic, atmospheric and bombastic sound, which would do well as a film score (for underground movies). It's certainly a solid album, which will be appreciated by people who loved their previous work. The only thing I miss is a real hammer, like 'Die Fahne hoch' or 'Fremde Fahnen Part II' on previous albums.

Moi qui me lassais un peu de l'indus martial, j'ai tout de suite eu le coup de foudre pour Wappenbund, groupe teuton qui a cette capacité que j'adore de mêler rythmiques martiales, nappes mélodiques et crissement indus. Pourtant, même si je m'attendais à quelque chose de bon (surtout après les avoir vus sur scène), j'ai été bluffé par la beauté de 'Kinder des Lichtes' le bien nommé. On y trouve en effet un Wappenbund plus atmosphérique, moins agressif mais tout aussi prenant. Tout débute par 'Flammen', beau titre célèste, rythmé par des percussions lourdes et survolé d'un chant féminin qui lui donne une petite touche épique, pour enchaîner sur 'Kinder des Lichtes' plus sombre dans ses ambiances grâce à des claviers malsains et plus rapide dans son rythme ( on pense parfois au 'Gelöbnis' de PAL). D'autres nappes symphoniques s'ajoutent progressivement, ce qui confère au tout une atmosphère de marche hantée.'Andacht' débute de manière plus calme par un beau thème au piano hâché de coups sourds avant de se drapper dans des sonorités tristes qui siéraient à merveille pour une musique de film, très beau vraiment. Cet aspect progressif se retrouve également sur 'Stahle im Ewigkeit' qui mêle sonorités ambient et grondements indus sur son introduction, lesquelles s'enflent tandis qu'un battement sourd, comme un coeur malade, rythme l'ensemble en arrière-fond pour mourir lentement tandis que les crissements prennent de l'ampleur avant de s'évanouir eux-aussi pour ne laisser au final qu'un jeu de clavier éthéré et émouvant. Les percussions lourdes font leur retour sur le magnifique 'Frieda', lourd et symphonique à souhait, avec toujours cette superbe touche mélodique dans les nappes de clavier. Comme son nom l'indique, le final 'Marche funèbre' baigne dans une ambiance tragique, lourde, presque théâtrale dans son obscurité. Wappenbund sont des esthètes et accordent beaucoup d'importance à leur visuel, c'est pourquoi, cette belle pièce est emballée dans une magnifique pochette qui se présente comme une lettre. 'Kinder des Lichtes' séduira sans aucun doute les amateurs d'indus martial ou simplement les fans de projets comme Sophia, Arcana et autres In Slaughter Natives.

NEBELUNG are a young band from Germany, their music flows from the whispers of nature till the gentleness of Creation. They showed us, how powerful it can be when you're use the term "less is more" correctly.
"Vigil" is the first fulltimealbum of the band, after the EP "mistelteinn". They're singing in german and Stefan Ottos voice is full of sadness but powerful in the end of all. There's no consolation, only solitude and melancholy. "Sturm" stands on the top of all, it's truly stormy. All the lyrics are inspired by the spirit from the turn of the century, three of them are by the famous german writers Gertrud Kolmar, Georg Trakl and Stefan George.
This pure acoustic music is dominated by the guitars but you will find also an bass, an violine and an accordion in it. The songs are like a dark call from the woods. Listen to them on quite places in moments of melancholy. Then maybe you will remember FORSETI, EMPYRIUM or ULVER but there's never the bitter taste of missing authenticity on "Vigil". On the contrary: no other band combines poetry, music and sound so close to a picture of humans in the woods and meadows…

This alpine gem of a mini-album from Nebelung though a new addition to Eis & Licht label is a debut mature and gifted that belies their lack of disco-graphical history. Mistelteinn's viridescent digipak nurtures forested apport within and without in a limited edition of 600 copies with booklet.
Natural sounds for a natural world, the sawing breath of cello draws life into wood and string, geometry and its harmony, inflecting profound reflection, the music of Nebelung immediately strikes the listener in luscious tones that capture the very vibrations of the air as it is compressed by the medley of instrumentation. Crystallised acoustic guitar pluck despondent arpeggio within fallow glen where flute educe forgotten folk arrangements and weeping cello and mourning vocals throat figurative loam for the fluorescent ornamentation.
The duo of Stefan Otto and Thomas List perform an unsoiled traditional album of well-crafted folk compositions that would find good company beside Forseti, Darkwood, and the acoustic side of Ulver. Clocking in at just less than thirty minutes for six tracks, Nebelung show a promising potential despite its Germanic neofolk similarities.

“大自然和我们对它的敬意是我们创作的灵感，”乐队成员解释道，“远离城市的嘈杂而漫步于森林之中有时会让你感到，某种类似于精神顿悟的东西。我们想通过我们的曲子，歌词和整个歌曲的结构来唤起这种感觉。”
正是为了表达这种自然的主题，乐队在专辑中没有使用任何的电声设备，6首歌全部由原声乐器演奏，长笛、木吉他、大提琴这些简单的配器让音乐呈现出一种质朴和纯粹，Otto的嗓音也是非常平实的男声，听他娓娓道来，仿佛时光回转到了Ulver和Empyrium的那个年代，不禁恍惚。然而这样似曾相识的音乐，今天却不能让我重温当年的那种感动。实非歌者之过，只是我们走的匆忙。
