melody's echo chamber is the name given to the work of paris-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter melody prochet. possessing a penchant for wild-eyed psychedelia, homespun motorik rhythm and an effortless flair for the sort of melodic classicism redolent of chamber song, prochet is at once both an aficionado of pop's outer limits and off-kilter to its expectations. her eponymous debut album, recorded between perth (with tame impala's kevin parker) and her grandparents' beach house in cavalire in france, is released through weird world.

Former Stereolab chanteuse Laetitia Sadier hasn’t released a new record since her 2012 solo LP, Silencio, but she’s set to deliver a pair of albums in the next few months. First up is her third solo album, titled Something Shines; then, the debut album from her polemical band Little Tornadoes, called We Are Divine, in September (in fairness, Stereolab were a polemical band, too; they just happened to make great lounge music). Based on what I’ve heard of both those albums, Sadier hasn’t strayed too far from the sound of the band that made her famous, which is a good thing as far as I’m concerned.

Conçue dans un premier temps pour etre jouée plusieurs fois sur scene lors de ciné concerts (dont une performance au Roadburn Festival en 2011), la bande son de "Vampyr" (film muet de Carl Dreyer datant de 1932) fut finalement enregistrée en février 2012.
Le résultat n'est donc pas un nouvel album de YEAR OF NO LIGHT mais un long morceau de plus d'une heure qui oscille entre du YEAR OF NO LIGHT classique à base de riffs lourds et de grosses guitares et des passages drone et expérimentaux qui ne sont pas sans rappeler leurs collaborations discographiques avec NADJA et THISQUIETARMY.
Le disque se présente sous la forme d'un double vinyle incluant une version CD du long morceau afin de pouvoir ecouter la bande son en continu.

Initially composed to be played as a live soundtrack (like at Roadburn Festival 2011 for example) on Carl Dreyer's "Vampyr" (silent film from 1932), this long musical piece was finally recorded in february 2012.
The result is not a new YEAR OF NO LIGHT album but a long new track (72 minutes) with YEAR OF NO LIGHT classic heavy riffs mixed with more experimental and drone tunes that can remind us their collaborative records with NADJA or THISQUIETARMY.
The record is a double vinyl including a CD version of the long track to listen to it in an one-time session.
