Blue Man Group present their third studio album, THREE, on April 22, 2016, featuring 14 new instrumental tracks.
One of many exciting new projects in 2016, Blue Man Group's THREE will be available from Rhino on CD, as well as digitally. THREE is a modern snapshot, capturing a moment in the constantly expanding world of the Blue Man Group. Building upon their previous studio albums, including the gold-certified, Grammy-nominated Audio (1999), and sophomore concept album The Complex (2003), THREE draws inspiration from 25 years of creative growth and development.
The instrumental music features exciting sonic explorations from a wide array of newly developed instruments including the Snorkelbone, a creation that utilizes a plastic hose to produce a whirring, pulsating tone when swung in the air; a PVC pipe take on the traditionally wooden aboriginal instrument, the Didgeridoo; and the Chimeulum, which is best described as orchestral chimes on steroids ; and many more.

Equal parts black metal, noise and drone, LOCRIAN’s ‘Return To Annihilation’ is a terrifyingly beautiful vision of bright menace.
Chicago’s blackened noise geniuses LOCRIAN spent the second half of 2012 crafting ‘Return To Annihilation’, their Relapse debut. Locrian have been creating their own brand of epic noise drone for close to a decade, but ‘Return To Annihilation’ is the culmination of their sound. Equal parts black metal, noise and drone, LOCRIAN’s ‘Return To Annihilation’ is a terrifyingly beautiful vision of bright menace. The soundtrack of the bright white lights we’ll all see before the very end of days.

February 2016 marks the much-anticipated release of Pool, Porches’ debut full-length for Domino and a major step forward for frontman Aaron Maine—as an evolving singer / songwriter, and as a nascent producer. Written and recorded almost entirely in the Manhattan apartment he shares with his partner and frequent collaborator, Greta Kline a.k.a Frankie Cosmos, Pool is an elegantly drawn set of gorgeous synth-driven pop songs, and an expansive re-articulation of the melancholy we’ve come to expect from him; from the pristine harmonies of “Hour” to the undulating R&B of “Underwater” to the Auto-tuned majesty of the title track. “I feel like I naturally gravitate towards the more melancholic experiences in life,” he says, “but this time around I tried to dissect those moments and somehow extract what was so beautiful about them.” The result—recorded twice, and eventually mixed by Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Tobias Jesso Jr.) in his Los Angeles studio—is a sophisticated and fully immersive listening experience, with Maine’s voice at its center. “I want people to feel dark, beautiful and strong when they hear this new record,” he adds, “I want them to fall in love.”

Abandoning their lo-fi bedroom goth passions of previous projects, Tobias and Shiloe Grave take a bold step into the dire cathedral of moody post-punk; a temple founded by artists such as The Chameleons UK, Magazine, and Danse Society. The writing’s done 50/50 by Grave and Alia, who started playing music together in August when ‘An Open Door’ (and other demos) emerged. Awww, there's just not much cuter than a couple Goth kids in love. Toby and Shiloe Grave retired their brutally depressive Blessure Grave project (sadly) and lightened up with Soft Kill. Apparently, the couple describe this record as "an open dialog love letter in song form". Its Death Rock, Post-Punk and New Wave all in one tidy package.

After already having taken forward-thinking extreme music to unprecedented heights over the course of their short but propulsive career, Richmond's INTER ARMA are back with another opus of epic proportions. Like the band's previous works, the new album 'Paradise Gallows' is direct and foreboding while maintaining a nuanced, artful perspective. INTER ARMA's signature palette of dissonant high-end and abyssal low-end has been augmented with swathes of thick, impressionistic melody that lend 'Paradise Gallows 'a truly biblical sense of scale, both lyrically and in terms of the album's sonic content. Harsh and acoustic passages (including the band's first-ever foray into clean vocals) spar with complex rhythmic structures across nine sweeping tracks over 71 minutes of expansive, progressive heaviness. Dense, funereal, and richly evocative, 'Paradise Gallows' is a vibrant blend of doom, post-metal, sludge, avant-garde, black and death metal, and is a singular and powerful new addition to the band's already monumental discography.

All 10 songs have been re-mixed and re-mastered from the original recordings (2013-2015).
