It snowed heavily, and my thoughts roamed free inside the storm, where all shapes, stripped bare by the cold, lost their contours and colours. Perhaps that feeling of extreme essence was the origin of this album."
The first album focuses on several main themes, which then recur in different forms on the following albums – seven variations following the same imaginary itinerary. Or the same itinerary, retraced at seven different times.

A solid bob-based pianist, Eddie Higgins has never become a major name, but he has been well-respected by his fellow musicians for decades.
After growing up in New England, he moved to Chicago, where he played in all types of situations before settling into a long stint as the
leader of the house trio at the London House (1957-1969). Higgins moved back to Massachusetts in 1970 and went on to freelance, often
accompanying his wife, vocalist Meredith D’Ambrosio, and appearing at jazz parties.
